Bob in Wisconsin
I found this completely different angle of the hit, showing Kaip just LEVELING Bucky, pretty awesome. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SFt-jdgTOA
I Ranger
I also think they were a little premature in anointing him as the Rookie of the year. I totally agree with this assessment. I specifically watched him on Saturday night given on TV but I didn't see anything special and I wouldn't have even noticed him if I wasn't looking for him. sioux7>5
I still want to now why three of the Wisconsin players ewere allowed to stand by the glass after they were escorted off the ice. They came out of the locker room and watched the rest of the game. I thought once you were ejected you could not come back near the ice. Can someone help me out with what the correct rule is. Thanks
Sodbuster
Hey, Bob, just watched that "completely different angle." Which one is Kaip?
Sodbuster
Oops! Just watched agian.....I guess there was only one hitter. I guess Bucky won't have such a big head after that.

pstar
It pains me to say this, but I thought it was a clean hit. I was hoping I could say otherwise, but it was a good, clean hockey hit. The Wisco idiot got cuaght with his head down. It happens. As for the fight, it seemed to start instantly between the UND and WISCO player at the dot, there may have been a slash to the chest, but I can't tell for sure. They seemed to turn into each other and start swinging. Odd fight. I think it was more hype than fight. Not sure waht the penalty situation was, but I'd be surprised in if anyone got a major. Bob in Wisconsin
What has to happen for the goalies to get involved, generally speaking? I see they stayed out of it. Is it pretty much goalie on goalie, or will a goalie take on anyone? Do you think Lammy skated out to the blue line to see if Connely would get involved? Just kind of curious why they didn't get involved.

Just kind of curious why they didn't get involved. Last year MSUM's backup, "hollywood" tried to challenge Walski (i think??) to center ice during the brawl at the ralph. BUT Lammy would be stupid to fight... What if, during Lammy's suspension, Walski got hurt? - Forney would have to mind the net thanks to Grieco (that being said, I still can see Lammy doing it!) Looking up Goalie fights on youtube is hobby of mine, especially fights involving a patrick roy versus a certain chris osgood
Bob in Wisconsin
So, you think Forney is the 3rd goalie now? Was he a goalie in high school?
AZSIOUX
So, you think Forney is the 3rd goalie now? Was he a goalie in high school? not sure but he was recruited as a star forward striaght to UND so if he did maybe it was when he was younger. im sure the sioux will address the 3rd goalie spot this week sometime having a bye

Yeah, I kinda figured that, but was wondering what it would take. Hypotheticly, if Connelly started tangling with Kaip, would Lammy come flying down the ice? I suppose if he did, Hak would be screaming "Nooooo!!" the whole way.
Tsiouxnami
"North Dakota protects their goalie. THey don't just hit, they're nasty!" I had to laugh when the announcer continued on and made the claim the the Sioux will do anything including "pinching".
franchise
Wow, I never realized what a bunch of fight instigating thug players UND had until I got the pleasure of watching that video and hearing the insight from the Bucky announcers. Good thing they aren't totally biased. I especially love the part where poor Turris is getting mugged by Jones and "gets helped out" by a teammate. Did they announcers miss the part where Turris slashes Jones as they break apart? I also find the maturity level between here and the badgers board to be quite different. Everyone here seems to have an opinion but is respectable about it. Over there, Finley is a P.O.S., little green dicks, etc etc.

Why does this one get so much more attention? Because of the coaches after the game? Because all 10 players were given misconducts? Because Turris was involved? Because Turris was involved? Maybe it's because UND and Wisco have a history of fighting and rough games, or least they did in Sauer and Badger Bob's days. That's something that seems to have eluded the "commentators" who think Saturday's "fight" was like the Little Big Horn. No blood on the ice, no cops hauling players away and no Jim Archibald or Cary Eades trying to beat up the entire audience. That's no fight. That's a minor spat. That's a minor spat. thats what cracks me up, there wasnt a real punch thrown. it was just a wrestling match actually. if there were punches then there would be DQ's across the board for each teams next game and there isnt. eaves was just worried turris would get beat up and his season would tank as he only has him for 1 season anyways the wcha is a little harder to score against than robert morris , isnt it kyle!! he will be a great for the coyotes someday but for now i hope we bottle him up every game we see him if we ever see him again with sconnie not coming to the ralph and i say they dont make the final
siouxnami
What I can't wait for is when Eaves says, "Come on, the league needs to cut down on the trapping. It's making the games hard to watch."
