Extra night stay, day of meals, entertainment, etc with this setup isnt ideal Definitely makes it harder on all fans from a budget / PTO perspective. Doubt the coaches change it back though. So to tweak it, would be more ideal if they did the games Friday - Monday. Would at least be a little better than the current system for fans plus better for viewing on TV as you really will only miss 1 game if you’re trapped at work Friday. (Monday would be a doubleheader of regional finals at night which would be fun) 2 Quote

"It's pretty surreal. You kind of get nervous with the transfer portal and stuff. You just don't know how it's going to shake out. Getting to come here in the first place was super special, but then, just biding my time and getting the opportunity that they've given me and trying to run with it has been super special. I wish I had another year at this place, because it's been literally a dream come true. "I was still shocked my first game here. You don't realize how special this team is to the community here. It's a different planet out here. It really is." 4 5 Quote
UNDDOM Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Posted yesterday at 06:46 PM Looking at the available tickets for both games, kind of shocked as roughly only half sold so far. Granted this place holds 11K. Quote

Granted this place holds 11K. Not really surprised...it's a haul from Grand Forks and the number of local alumni would have to be considerably less than the Twin Cities area, for instance. Some fans may be banking on UND making it to Vegas and are trying to save a few $$$ by not attending the regional. Quote

brianvf Posted 22 hours ago Author Posted 22 hours ago Herald SF regional preview: https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/und-hockey/ncaa-sioux-falls-regional-at-a-glance Didn't realize that UND has the #2 FR scoring class in the country, behind only QU. Quote Quinnipiac has the highest-scoring freshman class in the tournament with a whopping 180 points. Quinnipiac's top three scorers are all freshmen. UND is second with 144 points from its rookie class. Quote Since Dec. 11, no team in the country has more wins than Merrimack. The Warriors are 16-5-2 since then. Western Michigan and Sacred Heart also have 16. 1 Quote

SiouxFan100 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago There shouldn’t be a problem getting tickets to the Saturday game when UND plays - correct? Quote

Not a screamer, but there are points after a goal where he's just too excited and gets a bit annoying. I like Weekes from a macro standpoint and he does his research when given new assignments (usually in the NHL world where he does 95% of his work), but I don't expect him to be great knowing some of the key details of the NCAA world & its players like the diehards around here would know. TL;DR: You might get a bit annoyed with him for certain reasons, but he's generally fine. Quote

I expect the very least when it comes to ESPN broadcast crews so if this guy knows just a little bit it will be fine. 1 Quote

Their previous arena (Sioux Falls Arena) was very outdated, built in the 50s. They were in desperate need of a new home for the Stampede as well as a place to host other events like concerts, monster jam, etc. Additionally, Sioux Falls is growing like a weed, with population doubling since the 90s. Hockey in general is also booming in the city; They got Scheels IcePlex, west of the airport, with 3 sheets, and the new rink for Augustana (Midco Arena) etc. Quote
