brianvf Posted Monday at 03:04 AM Posted Monday at 03:04 AM Time for the series that I least look forward to each season. Although this year maybe it won't be as much of a trap-fest, since BSU seems to have really upped their scoring. BSU is off to their best start since probably the 19/20 season, and they are now 9-5-2. They haven't exactly had a tough SOS, but they've beaten the teams they're supposed to beat. Their only losses are getting swept by SCSU/UMD and then an OT loss to Tech. Their SR forward Flammang leads them in points and already is having his best year statistically for them after only 14 games. Their old USports transfer, Peer (already listed as a JR in his first NCAA season), leads them in goals with 10 and is heating up lately with 3-2-5 in their weekend sweep of NMU. I would love to see a UND sweep here with limited OOC NPI opportunities remaining, but something tells me it won't be that easy. UND hasn't swept BSU in two regulation games since the 2016/2017 season. Ouch. They always seem to play their best games against UND. Hopefully UND is a bit healthier after their exhibition weekend. Go UND! 4 Quote

I fear that anything else will make March a nerve racking month. Quote

TwamleyShuffle Posted yesterday at 04:17 AM Posted yesterday at 04:17 AM I’m hoping for an entertaining series of games. As folks have mentioned, the beavers play a boring style of hockey. Hopefully we get the first two goals and have them chasing for the duration of the game 1 Quote

I know losing to the Beavers always feels that way but currently our loss to the gophers is much more detrimental than a loss to Bemidji would be. Quote

College hockey 2025 man. Take no one for granted. It's kind of awesome that way. 1 Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted yesterday at 01:01 PM Posted yesterday at 01:01 PM They didn’t fare well against the NCHC so far, let’s keep it rolling. Quote

Thus, if we compound those losses with another loss (or worse) to Bemidji, we may very likely be sweating come March. I would rather take care of business this weekend and know that we are in a good place with our non-conference results going into the break. I would prefer to be strongly in the 8-10 range of the NPI or better going into March. Not sweeping this weekend just takes another step toward being in the 14-20 range. Quote

Bold take, most of like riding that bubble with a chance to end our season early Quote

beastandco Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago It sounds like Rickwood will be out again this weekend. Dane mentioned Verhoeff, Wiebe, and Kernan as players returning from not being in the lineup last Friday. Quote
