hawksfan12 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago What are the bucket list college hockey roadtrips for all of you? A couple different dimensions: - Bluebloods: MN, WI, MI, BC, BU, Denver - Rivals: MN, Denver - Venues: Yost (MI), Kohl (WI), Mariucci (MN), Matthews (Northeastern), Compton (ND), Ingalis (Yale), Alfond (Maine) - Cool Cities: Madison (WI), Ann Arbor (MI), Boston (BC/ BU), Tempe (ASU), Duluth (UMD), Denver (DU) - Crowds: Western Michigan, MI, Maine, Cornell, Michigan Tech, Michigan State, Penn State, Minnesota In college hockey, it doesn't seem there are "clear" ones like in NFL (Lambeau) or MLB (Wrigley, Fenway). But wonder what places people wanna see or are worth seeing. 1 Quote
nodakvindy Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Matthews was a treat, glad I got there and it completed my Beanpot set. Hobey Baker rink at Princeton was an absolute treat, the Wrigley or Fenway of college hockey. Lynch at Cornell was also great. Yost was a bit of a disappointment. Trips id like to do are Alfond Arena in Orono, Lawson in Kalamazoo and Michigan Tech during winter carnival. The Clarkson st Lawrence combo is another that is of interest. 1 Quote
AlphaMikeFoxtrot Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago Air Force-Army in Springs is mine, if that ever overlaps with UND at CC I'll be there. Quote
atxsioux Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago I think most of us know but if you are dying to get to Matthew’s arena you need to go within the next month or so (they’re demolishing it in December unfortunately, think it has some major structural issues going on) Quote

If you’re into that history aspect I think Matthew’s wins as the coolest spot. It’s hosted just about every event you can think of. I think it’s the oldest sporting arena in the US as well 1 Quote
farce poobah Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Been to Gutterson in Burlington VT. Quite reminiscent of the original Winter Sports Building at UND. Go in October. The fall colors are spectacular. Quote

I saw the Hobey presentation there when Zane was in the final three. Eichel won it that year. Quote
