I wouldn't say either moved the needle. Driscoll had a .937 2nd half save percentage and saved our defense’s asses over and over. How do you think we won a share of the Penrose Cup? He left and the next year the defense went to hell even though it was largely the same. Quote

He is out after this season and gives a recruit another year to develop in juniors. A move like that was inevitable and it beats having someone come in that the staff is not sold on long term. +1 Young arriving as a SR allows guys like Simpson, Schultz, and O'Neill to gain another year of experience in juniors and come in next year more ready to contribute. I like that move for this year's team. 2 Quote

Granted, he is still 16 and has time to fill out. Who knows when that measurement was taken too. That may have been at the start of the year…he was (at the very least) 5’10” when I saw him in April. Maybe a little taller. 1 Quote

Young, Andrew, TBD Not that I don’t think that they’ll play at all. We have a lot of younger forwards so Young could be a good boost to a lower line to add some experience while the frosh get up to NCAA speed. Quote

It depends on how many forwards dress. From what I saw last year, Andrew will be sitting a lot unless he had a good offseason. The other forward sitting will be a freshman that might be banged up or is struggling. I think Young will play most nights, at least. Opening night, I would guess that Klee and Andrew are sitting out with 13 forwards dressed. Quote

With our D core, we should see a lineup of 12 and 7 each night. Hopefully easing in Laurilla and probably working in all 8 throughout the year. 1 Quote

Ford was the NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year when he was here. Didn’t score a ton of goals but was a pretty consistent producer on team that admittedly didn’t have a ton of offensive weapons. Ah now I remember, he was atrocious first half then lights out after Christmas. As far as I’m concerned, conference championships stopped existing when Pegula killed the golden goose. 6, 7, 8 team leagues don’t require a great team to win, Minnesota and UND show it like every other year Quote

Back in the day, the WCHA had Michigan Tech, Mankato, and Alaska Anchorage. The NCHC has Miami. Hard to argue against the depth of the Big 10 right now, either. Quote

If we get another ball player, I highly doubt he’s in the lineup. At least to start the year and someone else would have to royally play poorly. We have multiple guys that need to play over him. 1 Quote

I think we play Jubenvill or Laurila as our extra skater instead of an extra forward. I do think Young starts the year playing a limited 4th line role until an underclassman plays into that role. Who knows, maybe Young plays well enough to stay in the lineup. If UND gets a legitimate top 9 forward, Young will be watching a lot of games in the family section. I see Littler as our third line center or right wing, depending on the position of the last forward. Quote
