However I know we’re talking with him. The Ziemer deal was very real. Looks like he got what he was looking for and got to stay in the TC. My source was about as good as it gets. 2 Quote

cberkas Posted Wednesday at 06:15 PM Posted Wednesday at 06:15 PM So, front runners for DuPont are Michigan and Denver. Bryn will work his magic to get him. Quote
SIOUXELEVENS Posted Wednesday at 07:01 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:01 PM Did DuPont accelerate or would he be a 2027? Quote

jk Posted Wednesday at 07:06 PM Posted Wednesday at 07:06 PM I saw somewhere that DuPont said one of the players he models his game on is Buium. Gave me a bad feeling. Quote

If DuPont comes in next season I don't see how we have room for him with MacKenzie and rumor of Carels? I only see Wiebe, Liv, and Zmolek leaving. Of course someone could leave early. 1 Quote

Obviously you don’t say no to a player like DuPont, but with the commits we have lined up, you have to ask yourself if it makes sense to spend the money at that position. When you look at next year’s roster and where the holes will be, it probably makes more sense to devote resources to finding a Rickwood and/or Reschny replacement rather than go all in on someone who doesn’t play a position of need 1 Quote

Reschny, Voerhoff, and Emery could all use another year in my estimation and typically UND holds these types of players comfortably for development. They still have plenty room to be challenged and grow at UND. Spunar is very good but I'm not sure about NHL good and even if it's an option for him to jump up I think I'd rather play in Grand Forks vs the AHL. I don't see him moving a NHL goalie from their position soon. Zellers has a lot of potential and guys like him have moved on from NCAA before but that was almost always a mistake. His growth through the season has really impressed me as far as becoming a better 2 way player. He still needs more refinement than the other positional players mentioned above. I really don't see many if any of these guys taking the bait this off-season. 3 Quote
