Which begs the question ... the final roster for 26-27 probably won't be announced until early July sometime, after the NHL draft. Not sure when previous years' rosters came out.

Ludovic Perreault really looks like he should be in the conversation for the future.  Very dynamic goal against Vancouver.  Nice to see Preston and Lin playing again for Vancouver. A lot of skill and speed with those 3 guys, and McKamey looks to be more comfortable and finding his game.

I think 2C next year is where he absolutely should be, assuming he's developing in the offseason and takes a good jump in progression.

I think he can play second line, it just depends on linemates. For example, if we landed the Ruck twins, Kernan would be a perfect fit on a second line with them. I just don’t know that he has the offensive skills to drive his own line as a sophomore

If Kernan miraculously develops the skill level that made Schmaltz a first round draft pick I'd be all for him being 1 or 2C next year. I like Kernan but comparing him to Schmaltz by saying they each do some things better than the other seems strange to me. I don't see them as comparable-Schmaltz was multiple levels better in pretty much every way, especially his second year when he was stick lifting like Datsyuk. I think Kernan is a 3C on a good Sioux team, 2C on one that sneaks into or misses the tournament

I don't buy this honestly. I think he signs pro, but if not, I'd bet he's back at Qpac. Interesting that UND is mentioned here as a big NIL player though. Wonder if there's any truth to that or if this account was just throwing out names of blue bloods at random

Correct. My inference of Pete Hughes' tweet is that the blue blood/premier programs would be willing to throw Wyttenbach a bag of NIL to get him to transfer, but nothing about Wyttenbach actually planning on leaving Quinnipiac. I expect him to be back there too

Yeah, I’m wondering if he just assumes that the big names that leave the WHLfor the college route all do it for NIL reasons.  I think many do it simply as the next step of development to be better prepared for the step to the NHL.

Only like 2-5% of players are getting enough money where it’s the main factor for them to leave major JR for the NCAA

facilities, free college education in the states, more time for lifting and gaining weight, getting to live in better location (IE say Boston or Tempe) , having a roommate instead of having a billet family, better travel situations, playing against older players, better fan atmospheres, more mental wellness options (team psychologists, etc)

You put all of that on to a pie chart and the money sliver is going to be pretty damn small.

It's not even leaving, it's simply moving up a level. NCAA is better than junior, you move up a level once you're ready to. Vast majority of hockey players aren't good enough to make the jump from junior to pro, the NCAA is the perfect middle ground where you can play against older, but still age appropriate competition before you make the jump to pro.

Josephson may have done near zilch in the A if he just signed his ELC with the Kraken. He'll be more pro ready when he signs with the Kraken or whomever else
