Generational is a big statement  …but he’s the best 2011 goalie in North America (that I’ve seen) and it isn’t particularly close

That’s huge for them. He’s a high end offensive talent. Would’ve been drafted much higher if not for his size

Yeah he's gonna be a great college player. Small and fast and skilled.

So many great players with access to Major Junior players, so top teams are bound to get their share.  Hopefully we are in on even bigger names.

A strong WMU team is good for the NCHC & provides UND with good competition to elevate its own game. Better he went to the NCHC than the B1G or another conference. Good chance that UND gets one comparable to Benak or even better.

 Correct. It was previously thought by a few on this board (just last spring, in fact) that a few schools with large NIL reserves would hog all the elite players & make it difficult for UND & others to compete. That's been proven false, because there are simply too many talented CHL, USHL & international players to go around for just a few teams to all get.

Would hope Chyzyk/Jackson are in on the Ruck Twins (2008). Both are tearing up the Dub for Medicine Hat as 17 year olds.

Makes you wonder if the Wild encouraged him to go that route, as last year it appeared he wasn’t interested in the college route, or maybe he had to take care of some transcripts to meet eligibility requirements.

I didn't think he would go the NCAA route at all when he went to the OHL. 

I think we'll see more Euros going to the NCAA now.

He’s a bit undersized…playing a gap year in the O made sense. Clearly he’s past that level but is still really small. Taking the slower path is a decent route. He’ll be really good right away next year.

Vaclav Nestrasil Sr is getting word out to more & more Czechs about the benefits of NCAA Hockey, and we're seeing more Czechs go to the NCAA now

Need chippahs and strong leadership.  That's a tiny part why a coaching change was needed at UND.

Will be interesting to see how he does going directly from U18 team to NCAA.  Works for some, but not others.
Bob is going the BU route and bringing in some more young forwards...we'll see if it works out as well for UMN as it did this year for BU.
