I am assuming because of the U17 Five Nations and the Hlinka tournament going on, any recruiting news on any prospective recruits playing in these tournaments will probably not be happening until these tournaments are completed. So theoretically news could be slow.

Did hear from a few pre-draft reports that there were concerns about compete level at times with him so that may have been a red flag to the staff to go after him

A little disappointed / surprised to see the amount of first round picks that have signed ELCs. Currently it seems to be pretty unanimous from scouts that a lot of the 1st round picks this year are relatively far from being NHL ready so they’ll be stuck in between being too good for JRs but not good enough for the NHL 1 year from now. 

 

Really comes off as poor advice from agents to their own clients - hopefully that’s not the case as it’s the players that ultimately pay the price for it

Additionally, the vast majority of guys coming straight out of junior aren't ready for the A at 19 or 20 years old. Basically every non European Pro should play a year or two in the NCAA. We'll see how guys like Ben Kindel do when they turn pro but think he would have benefitted from 1-2 years in Grand Forks or Denver instead of going back to Calgary to stat pad in the Dub this year.

Correct, still unlikely they win a National Championship with their current roster formula of 90%+ Minnesotans. But they're getting some solid recruits in this cycle plus Carter Casey from the end of the previous cycle.
