"If I honestly thought it would hurt UND, I wouldn't be doing this. I don't feel that in my heart," he said. "I know I am doing the right thing. I sleep well at night. The common theme. Everyone at UND is lying. The NCAA is lying. Everyone that thinks differently than me is lying. Reed is as delusional as his clients. Chewey
Anybody hanging their hat on a successful outcome to the SL litigation would probably have better luck playing the Powerball. If they beat the motion to dismiss, it will become quite interesting. You scoff. Good. I respect your abilities Scott and I did in law school - except you should have hooked up permanently with BA (very cute). The SL and SR nickname supporters have been underestimated every step of the way. Good to see that such a disposition is still prevalent. Everyone that thinks differently than me is lying. Reed is as delusional as his clients. True. I love this one ... "How can we respect what's being done to us by the NCAA when the Sioux people want the name? Why should we stand for it? Isn't this something where common sense can prevail?" Your clients and SR were intentionally MIA in 2005-2007. Both at one time or another indicated they had no interest in the issue, or opposed UND's use of the moniker. If they want the moniker, let them have it,but don't hang it around UND's neck like an anchor.

Everyone that thinks differently than me is lying. Reed is as delusional as his clients. Well, I don't think Faison's misstatements really helped to assuage that broadly held presumption. I don't know how else one could frame Grant Shaft's unsupported (except evidently for his own communications with Notre Dame, if they happened at all) comments concerning Notre Dame vis-a-vis the nickname. Maybe another overstatement or misstatement again? The NCAA has stated publicly that the tribes should be the final arbiters as to usage of native imagery. Native Americans of ND weren't even joined in the surrender agreement or consulted in good faith at all. Native Americans of ND want to have a say and have expressed a say in the nickname issue and have been denied a say by the very entity that said that they should have a say. Native Americans indicate that regardless of a surrender agreement this issue involves their sacred religious ceremonies and ancestral identity and adhering to the word given by their forefathers. Native Americans want the NCAA to acknowledge their heritage and their position and expect the NCAA to do so if it is to be consistent concerning its public statements thus: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CCgQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Findiancountrynews.net%2Findex.php%3Foption%3Dcom_content%26task%3Dview%26id%3D1797%26Itemid%3D115&ei=_845T5-MK4aCgAfgwo2ZCw&usg=AFQjCNETuqWOQIgMn5SReIEq0p2f04w-NQ&sig2=fP_AuRL9cM6o9DnvoHXcwA Yes. Chewey, do we know if anything has occurred since? http://www.scribd.co...ndum-to-Dismiss Not yet but my understanding is that a response is forthcoming. I think Soderstrom said something in the Hurled about it but I forget when that was or what he said. Maybe I'm just wrong about that but I thought he indicated something to that effect. Chewey
I still do not understand why you have not offered your services pro bono to the supporters. Kind of like putting your money where your mouth is. And responding to you is like putting something else where one's mouth is which is why I'm breathing with restraint right now and why I am loathe to do it. Goon
Do you and the Whistler still post on SAB? Whistler does. I read it once a day. Don't post anything there anymore. I don't have time, too many irons in the fire as it is. I more interested in hockey right now. Edited February 23, 2012 by Goon
PhillySioux
http://www.jamestownsun.com/event/apArticle/id/D9T3BV0O0/ Carlson & Co meet tomorrow. Not a lot of time for whomever they do hire. Briefs are due one week from their meeting.

PhillySioux
can it be live on the air ? Doubt it. I'd be shocked if they didn't move forward with counsel. Interestingly, 6 of the 17 committee members voted against repeal during the special session.
ScottM
Maybe we can really see how stupid Carlson is if he ignores the points raised in Mac Schneider's open letter to him earlier this week.

ScottM
so your a Democrat I think you're perfectly qualified to run for elected office. Perhaps mosquito warden.
CMSioux
How many of you Carlson haters are Democrats ? Sorry definitely not a Democrat but definitely can see that Al Carlson is a power hungry man with a self-centered agenda. The only petition that should be circulated is the one to have him recalled.
jodcon
By all means let's get the Dems vs. Reps angle into this too, there's a facet that hasn't yet turned into a 55-gallon barrel of worms.
