RR may lose Ulmer which is huge along with the seniors. Both teams will look very different next year. Per source Marto leaving after jr year i think he needs to get stronger on the puck Quote

Kennedy had the girls playing fantastic hockey this weekend. The second year in a row the 5 seed has won the tournament after beating north in 2 OT. the parity in girls hockey is nice. Hats off to Kilgore on a great season as well. rumors swirling of hazen, watford and Langdon moving up out of 19u that would shake some things up. Quote

WFU hiring a new coach paid off. They went from losing in the first round as a #1 seed to making the championship game as a #7 seed and winning it as a #5. Quote

HB is joining according to HB parents. 10 straight years with solid numbers and no competition other than WC some of the time. Quote

Wilbur Posted Monday at 03:03 PM Author Posted Monday at 03:03 PM The big names I'd keep track of in the EDC. I'll let @Johnny Fiveupdate the west as he seems in tune with what is happening there. Again, rumor mill so take it with a grain of salt. Will also lean on @gfhockey and the GOBC for the GF kids. Ulmer-RR: Skating wise he's there. Jeff's kid correct? Brown-RR: No rumors really outside of seeing him a few times and he would be one of the best returning forwards in the state. Rivard-GFC: Was his mom the UND coach? Marto-GFC: Per multiple rumors I've heard one more year at GFC. Spicer-GFC: A lot of coaches around the state I've spoken to are the most impressed with him of the GFC underclassmen. Benson-Sheyenne: Lead the state in scoring, and has played some NA3, also heard NAHL possibly this spring. Fitzpatrick-Sheyenne: In my opinion the best underclassmen goaltender in the state. Was out in Portland for their camp, and been on the ice with the Force. Dad used to coach HS, brother played college at Bottineau. Stromme-DL: Probably the MVP for that group this season. Great motor. There has been a bit of a Northstar pipeline for DL kids. If he stays he's All State pick. Quote

Johnny Five Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I'm not much n the loop Wilbur, but I have heard rumors of defenseman Raschke leaving Legacy (Northstar) an possibly McKay-Pressley being done with hockey all together. If both of those happen it's a fairly drastic drop off for the Sabers. Quote
Brim006 Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Probably safe to assume Minot and the Bismarck teams will all lose their norm of 3-5 players early. It will be interesting to see how Morelli does compared to everyone else who left early. Quote
ChadR Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Is Marto going to get any games in with Muskegon this spring? I know he was out there during the preseason practicing with them. Quote

U16 playoffs with team ND and Sioux Falls are this weekend in West Fargo, I've heard there are a few waiting around for that and possibly heading out depending on if they qualify for nationals or not. siouxweet Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Are there any rules as far as being a protected roster player for a NAHL team and being able to play HS hockey at the same time? Quote

I’ve never seen him play, but his numbers are pretty impressive for being a 15 y/o d-man Quote

I would say at this point could get more explosive and physical. Not saying he's a bad skater because he's not...smooth...needs the burst. 1 Quote
fightingsioux4life Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 8 of the 21 players on the all state team are from Grand Forks. Quote
Wilbur Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Congrats to the Legacy goaltender as according to my math he made 124 saves in the three days, beating the old record of 113. 1 Quote
