Non-UND College Hockey 2025-26

Those losses are going to buoy Penn State and hurt the conference as I expect ASU will figure out how to close out games at some point. I thought they were the better team for long stretches but come away with nothing.

Yeah, they'll pile up the stats in their four game stint against LIU and Stonehill.  Stonehill?  Geez.
Will be similar to the Michigan/Mercyhurst games from this weekend.

Yup...and he had to update his hair hat to the grey model.  Same old Gofer homer though; was having a sh*t fit at the end of the game when Minny challenged for a phantom major penalty and they didn't get it.

He's better than what they have had.

Alex, Holden, Mazzocco, the Denver guy, and the ESPN regional guy are the best ones that do pxp for college.

As much of a Gopher homer he is he at least knows the game better than most.

You think the national pundits(and some local ones) would learn but every year we're talking about how the Big 10 is going to start dominating college hockey.  But who collects that little ole trophy at the end of the year? The NCHC

I mean they have to go off of what they saw and Penn State deserved to win both nights this weekend as they were easily the better team. A road sweep against an NCHC team isn't an easy thing to do. I watched 4 of 6 periods this weekend and they are legit. They were better defensively than I was expecting.

And according to some of the Doomsday Preachers on this forum, we are destined to be a mid-major program because of the overwhelming power of the B1G. I am really glad our new coaching staff doesn't think that way.

The problem is that outside of Schlossman (biggest voice, but not super well known outside of NCAA diehards) & then to a lesser extent, McMahon, Divver, & Peters, no one with intimate knowledge of NCAA Hockey writes articles that well. And because hockey is a top down sport where far more people follow the NHL as opposed to amateur options like the NCAA, junior, etc, it means that articles are going to have a very professional slant/bias to them, instead of focusing on who is best set to win NCAA National Championships.

So Draft Kings has four B1G teams in their top 5 for betting odds on winning the Natty.  Are they kind of clueless about college hockey as well?  You would think they need to know what the hell they're talking about.

They sorta are too. But they're giving odds based on who is putting money on whom. The public is clueless/biased based on which teams are more popular & those teams will have more money on them. Most actual diehards know that Penn State is not a bigger favorite than Michigan State, Boston University, Western Michigan.

The odds you see today do not reflect what you'll probably see in March for college hockey. Odds can & do frequently change before a game based on new information: it's called 'line movement'. Nothing is in stone 6 months before the playoffs begin. Vegas/online betting sources will not lose money based on a delusional fanbase's perceptions.
