As the season has ended and ta new one begins.

  • Does Miami finally turn it around and it stop being "we should go to the CCHA" from some of their fans?
  • Will the NCHC add St. Thomas a year early?
  • How will Tennessee State do (as of now they start play this season)?
  • UMary heading to Alaska to play UAA and Alaska. Also, Georgia sounded like they will play St. Thomas, St. Cloud, and maybe Mankato.
  • Will more ACHA teams play NCAA teams this year?
  • Will UNLV make an announcement at the Frozen Four?
  • Do any of the independents get in a conference soon?

1. Miami will start winning some NCHC games but will still be bad.

2. St Thomas will remain in the CCHA for 2025-26.

3. Tennessee State will be pretty brutal in year 1. Their projected roster from what I gathered is not good at all. They should start going hard after some culture guys in the CHL with some scoring ability (before Dennis Williams and Bowling Green gets them lol)

4. I wonder how many new D1 teams get announced in 2025-26. I will forever want Iowa and anyone in Illinois to go D1.

5. NCAA D1 teams might schedule local ACHA teams for exhibitions to save costs.

6. Yes, I see UNLV announcing within the next year.

7. Lindenwood, as has been rumored, will join the CCHA and start there in 2026-27 after St Thomas leaves.

I think I'm most interested to see how quickly CHLers impact NCAA teams in 2025-26:

1. Will the 2026 National Champion have any CHLers on their roster?

2. Will a CHL mercenary like Gavin McKenna lead a team to a National Championship, or will it be someone more like Oliver Tulk (Wisconsin) or Shea Van Olm (Penn State) who stays 2-3 years and eventually leads their team to a ship?

Interesting.  Wonder if it's another Cullen Potter incident where CC wanted him to wait a year and ASU said he could come in this fall?

Or Mannino leaving

Plus, it's not just a hockey rink.  It's the basketball, hockey, and some other sport plus a sports complex for their university.
Multi-use, not just hockey.

Looking at the plans, I see a couple 9 story parking garages.  I think that is where the Ralph is severely lacking.  Having to walk numerous city blocks in 30 below wind chill makes one question why they don’t stay at home.

imo there are too many spots around REA....they/und totally messed up the Bronson property from day 1

park downtown...walk into a bar...have a water and or a beer...take their party bus and you literally get dropped off at the front door....end of game...right back to your car.

Guess it was the recruits that just de-committed.
Big 10 school paying $80-90k per year.  That's crazy for those level of players.  I mean, they are good, for sure.  But if Boisvert is getting $150k and those USHL commits are getting $80-90k to go B10 instead of MSUM?
Here's the blurb from the podcast:

LSSU is hiring a GM now too, but the role for them will be similar to how Providence has their GM setup, not as an assistant coach.
I like how UND did it with Bryn as an assistant so that he can actually actively recruit players while scouting them.

LSSU is also receiving a recurring $1.5m annual gift from an anonymous donor, specifically for its hockey program. Imagine how much that can elevate their program - they can now recruit (or more accurately buy) some of the best talent available for that kind of money, without worrying about other programs paying more money for their best players. Granted much of that will probably be allocated for operations costs & what not; but it should help ensure their top talent doesn't portal-out.

A family like Rydell in GF, wealthy beyond belief, could set up UND hockey for life with a similar kind of donation. $1.5m/year is peanuts for that family. Perhaps they're already donating significantly to UND NIL behind the scenes, but nothing like $1.5m/yr or it would have been mentioned in the news.

I miss the University bus to the parking ramp for $10. 😞
