Maybe Michigan will get hit with some infractions since everyone knew that Perron was heading there at this time last year.  ;)

"Communications of any kind are not permitted with a student-athlete at another school — or any other representatives of their interests, including agents — before that student-athlete enters the NCAA Transfer Portal," the memo read, according to a copy obtained by USCHO. "If a coach is contacted by an agent of a student-athlete who is not in the Transfer Portal, any further communication of that discussion is considered a rules violation. That includes a coach or a booster expressing interest in or suggesting the possibility of a roster spot opening for a student-athlete should the individual enter the Transfer Portal."

Will be interested to see if it’s enforced. I don’t recall the ncaa specifically calling out the use of agents / 3rd parties before?

So in theory there shouldn’t be any commitments until say day 5 of the portal being open. (Granted you can just tamper and then slow play the commitment)

Also not sure what they could do as punishment. A postseason ban for a year if you’re caught? Seems like since the ncaa puts on the tournament they can actually enforce that possibly?

NCAA is a toothless tiger these past few years; doubt they will/can do anything about this.

It's nice to have that rule in place, but it's something that cannot be enforced. The NCAA created this Wild Wild West environment of NIL & transfer portals, which is a perfect breeding ground & precursor for backroom deals, then enacted a rule which is almost impossible to enforce.

The NCAA or a disgruntled coach cannot prove that a conversation took place. And Perron, his agent or Naurato --along with Pandolfo & all the other coaches who have zero problems engaging in this behavior--will certainly not admit their naughty ways because they have guilty consciences.

Maybe I'm not crazy.  Feels like we just shoot and pray way to much.  It's so frustrating.

While that may be true, how many times in the past have we been frustrated because they're always looking for the perfect shot, hold the zone for a long time, and end up losing the puck without taking a shot?  It's a balance, for sure, but I'd rather have this, considering how many goals are scored because of an intentional tip or unintentional deflection

However this season ends, it's already 100% better than last year. And the future of this program is looking great, way different than the abyss we were staring into after the Frozen Faceoff last March.

Definitely...It's been so much more fun to watch this year; even managed a trip to St Cloud for the Saturday game back in December.  Hope the boys can keep things headed in the right direction; would love to see them in Vegas.

Nice article from Schloss on Emery.
Also talks about Akil Adams, UND's first Black player who played at UND from 92-94.

Would love to see him come back for a third year and help lead the defensive group, especially if Liver and Wiebe both turn pro.

"There's no place like here," Emery said. "The support from the fans and the support from the community is huge. It makes this place feel really special. I can't be any more grateful than to be here."

Emery's parents were in Grand Forks earlier this month to watch UND's series against Miami. He scored a goal in the series opener. They also heard the students chanting, loud and clear, for their son.

"It makes me tear up," Claire said. "Your heart swells to the point where you think it's going to explode. It makes me really happy. E.J. is a super kind person. I'm glad they've picked up on that."

Great TTD episode that recaps senior night as well.

What a recruiting tool, and not because it’s an effective spin job.   It’s authentic.
