Probably because so many people who wanted Berry gone were called very mean things and many claimed nothing was wrong with the program.  And now that the program exceedingly passes the eye test under new leadership, you can no longer even bring up the subject of past coaching anymore.

College Hockey News has a "customizer" function to their NPI data that allows you to go in and either change the outcome of any particular game or games, or plug in the outcomes of future games, and then see the effect on the NPI.  I think what this feature does when you plug in outcomes for future games is figure that all of the rest of the future college hockey games will have a result that is the most likely result of that game, maybe based upon KRACH or something else, but I'm not 100% sure about that.

In any event, it's a fun feature to fool around with if you're bored.

Using that feature, it suggests that if UND were to win 3 of 4 against SCSU and Miami, and split with WMU, we'd stay in the three spot, most likely.  It doesn't appear to matter whether our loss is to Miami or SCSU, which sort of makes sense given both series are at home and the two teams are in a generally similar spot in the rankings.

Easy? Maybe for everyone else, but not for us recently. Last year, it took three 3rd period goals to beat them, including two goals in the last 1:30 of the game. This year's UND team is definitely not last years however, hahaha.

This is also true. I was only replying to the notion that Miami was an easy win for UND over the past few years, which has not been the case.

It’s just a matter of time until CHN makes you buy a subscription to use it like they did to the stats customizer.

I think the fact he’s even “questionable” is a major win compared to how a lot of us felt his prognosis was going to be. Miami is no joke, so if he can go, have him go. If not have him rest.

Yup.  There are so many reasons to give the kids’ long-term health top priority.  First, you owe it to the player, personally and for his future at the next level.  Also, our program must be trusted by teams with future interests in these kids to protect their long term health.   At the front end prior to NCAA hockey, future prospects will hear from their advisers and coaches, including CHL, if UND doesn’t put its players’ health above its own immediate desire to win.

When there is any doubt, let them heal and give the next kid a chance to contribute.
