Agreed.   Those are kids, though very talented ones.   Their judgment can certainly be questioned, but they needn’t be demonized.

The only ones that haven't been included are Perron and Boisvert transfering, and I assume O-Mac won't be talked about either whenever he chooses his next location.

As much as it hurts to lose the skill, I feel the cancers have been cut out.

I doubt Jamernik will play pro with how much he’s invested into his aviation career, but I’d be intrigued to see which guys post his pro signing post…

Haven't you been following the stories that have come out regarding Berry's lackadaisical approach to recruiting?

I have seen several instances of players not being offered because "we are full". Meaning that keeping a home town boy (Montgomery) on the team was more important than making the team better. There is a reason Berry is no longer in charge of this program.

You do realize that Jax was also a part of these decision making processes? Berry was the person ultimately in charge but his staff played large roles in recruiting, and regularly made recommendations about whether or not to take a kid. The idea that everything was Berry’s decision and not a staff decision is nonsense and that is why it is still hard to understand the hire if we want recruitment to truly change

I wanted a full national search, but I am willing to give Jax a chance. Berry had the final word on everything as head coach. Now as the head coach, Jax can shape this program into what he wants. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do.

I would argue it is very crucial he shoots more because it doesn’t allow the opposition to zone in on the pass.  Once you become too predictable it makes it harder to succeed with your best skill.

A friend of mine who's at the FF just saw Erik Martinson and Bryn Chyzyk. I'm 100% convinced that they are going all in on Herter for the open coaching spot.

Yes, I was responding to someone arguing that Nick Schmaltz was a very good player and was a pass first guy. but even he shot it way more than Swanson. It was rare that Swanson was even looking at the net when he had the puck in the O zone.

I still think Colten St Clair is the dark horse in this race. 

But given timing and requirements, Herter seems to have the inside lane. That said, Jax, Simmer, and Chyz are all Canadians, as is Herter. Smaby is US citizen (as is St Clair).

I speculated previously that a NIL entity that allowed a fan to put money into the results, say 100 siouxsports members agree to pay $20 per goal, to the goal scorer....   Ethics aside, I would think the non-shooters would be prompted to fire away, and the "shy away from nosebleed alley" players may be more inclined to get blue on their blades....   For the "other than points" fans, pay for blocked shots, or saves, or take aways...  anything that is officially tracked, perhaps bonus funds for achievements...   30 goal scorer, look at the ledger, he gets a cool $5k from ol' moneybags, gfhockey, Kaching!!!!
