Hoping our team doesn't get bounced in the 1st round like the last time we were a #1 seed. You all might not have a NC in 10 years, but we haven't been out of the 2nd round. You guys got some work to do starting with the Purple Cows...then, if you happen to run into the Gofers... Quote

MafiaMan Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Being as this thread is about the end of the NCHC Frozen Faceoff, can I just say that while they tried their best to replicate the success of the WCHA Final Five, it was obvious from the get-go that this was a disaster. From the Target Center back to St Paul…groan. On-campus sites should have been a done-deal 3-5 years ago. Quote

Who knows, if they had done that, Berry might still have a job, because they would have been at home several times, instead of the one game and done at St. Paul. Quote

Never experienced the final five but as someone who lives closer to MSP than GF the Faceoff was a viable travel option for me. Didn’t go every year but several times. Unless Omaha hosts them again, likely wont make it to GF ever for playoffs/final weekend being a 10 hour trip. Quote

I get that risk, but you have to admit, a home atmosphere for a conference championship game can’t be beat. 1 Quote

Absolutely agree. Bittersweet. It’ll be better at home sites. And it’s not like they had success in the Faceoff anyway haha Quote
