Can we clamp down on the fake rumors

I would love to see that happen, here and everywhere...  I read a blurb about how the downfall of civilization is when nobody believes anybody else, seems more legit every day.

This is the best idea I have seen on this topic so far.

QR codes everywhere.....donate now!

BUT you have to see real time data...how big is it...where's it going and who is it going to?

Set by each conference or the NCAA as a whole?

that's what is wondering about this new "super conference".

you have to have x amount in NIL endowment but then maybe have a salary cap that is agreed upon to level it out...

cut out the scsu and lowells and get the schools that can raise enough and then say we are all on the same level now...you have 250k to spend each year and that's it...

How long before a salary cap is part of this messed up education plan?

And signed contracts; if player gets NIL money, then he can't hit the portal until contract period expires

There was a, I want to say, football team that put QR code on the helmets for you to give NIL to that player.

I bet the QR code for the GF Humane Society at Hugo's on 17th has generated more money in the short time it's been there compared to the random can of dog or cat food over the last x amount of years.

Hopefully.  A guy I know close to the program says the AD and Jax are working on a plan to do just that.

Not possible.  NILs aren’t tax free or tax deductible entities.  They are not endowments.  You can’t just park funds to grow without significant tax consequences.

You basically need significant annual commitments to funnel to the players each year.

The 3 Ferris State guys in the portal (Shoudy, Gault, Burtch) all have solid counting stats. I wonder where they end up, that program has been down for awhile.

Ferris State, if they actually put in the work to recruit, should be one of the programs that benefits from new CHLers coming into the NCAA.

I know nothing about the tax code (and don't want to read all 15,000 pages of it, either), but we need to think outside the box on this issue. NIL is a new concept and hasn't been around very long. It will evolve over time. We just need to be willing to step outside our comfort zone and brainstorm things we have never thought about before.

At the end of the day, UND will likely need to opt in to the house settlement and reorganize it's marketing/fundraising efforts so they aren't so fragmentized between the Champions Club, the Athletic Department, the 1883 collective, and the REA (which UND supposedly gains control of in 2030).

I agree with this.

Lawyers and tax accountants. They'll both make a lot of money from NIL.

And what, pray tell, would this mystical organization or trust be that would not be responsible for capital gains and simply grow and function like an endowment?

NIL isn’t some noble concept.  The recipient is no different than an employee or contractor.  This isn’t rocket science, and saying “lawyers and accountants” doesn’t mean anything outside of indicating you have no idea what you are talking about…
