Two things regarding the 1883 collective that need to be addressed:

First...It is an absolute administrative embarrassment and disgrace that UND is charging the 1883 Collective 25k a year to basically raise money for UND athletics only because they are doing it in the name of the University.

Armacost, Chaves and whomever else need to be held accountable for this. It's unnecessary overhead that needs to be resolved to be more financially efficient.

If anybody wants to b*tch about something important....this is it. Calls and emails. This is unacceptable.

Second ...rent for the 1883 collective unit in memorial village. $1600 a month. Do the math. That's money that could be spent on athletes. Hoping the building owners can help out with that and do better for the cause.

Wow that’s crazy! Why would UND charge them $25K a year?? Makes zero sense

Our resident apologists for UND administration will chime in any moment now.

This sucks!!  I was told this directly, 1st hand.  That could be a starting DL for the football team!!

UND can do better!!  If there is a legal issue that needs compensation, $1.00 lifetime use is perfect and they can hang that dollar in a frame on a wall.

No kidding. $25K and the $1,600 a month rent would go a long way toward getting some impact players to UND. Can’t wait to see the canned response from admin on this

On the rent.......is this privately owned?  A discount would be nice but it's a lot to ask individuals/partners to give up $19,200/year in revenue when the reality is they are likely operating near break-even given the high cost of construction the past 3-4 years.

You sound like you might have experience with this? :D

Let's just say there were 3 partners on this endeavor. Could all 3 partners afford to subsidize $500 a month each for the sake of the cause and charge $100 rent?

I don't know the answer.

But if I could afford to do it in that position, I would. I think you would too.

As always, easy for me to say without being in that position.

Why would she want all this money to go to UND from the Collective? I think she is contributing to it. Why would she want her money going to anyone but the athletes?

not sure of her motivations but since she's taken over the trust it seems one sided and sometimes vindictive....

I am not a fan of KEM, but this doesn't sound like it's coming from her. It sounds more like UND is skimming off the top of the NIL collective, which is pure stupidity.

I am not sure if this is apples to apples as I don't fully understand how UND and 1883 collective are tied together but ..... a number of years ago I was involved in raising some money for the UND engineering department.  We were told at that time that UND took 10% off the top of all donations that went through the UND foundation.  Donations that went straight to the engineering department avoided that.

Assume you meant the Foundation takes a 10% cut, not UND.
