Hak moved up, don't see Berry having that route available... I was "out of pocket" when Blais & Gino relinquished the helm. If I recall Monty got the tap from the bigs, don't recall Gwoz's final moments.... 2 hours ago, Benny Baker said: After winning his last natty, Gwoz went 1-6 in the NCAAs over his final 8 seasons. (Kind of sounds familiar). Gwoz was let go in April 2013. By April 2017, Denver was national champions again and have won a few titles more since. To add to this. Quote According to the Denver Post, Gwozdecky was fired due to lack of success at the NCAA tournament and an inability to agree to terms on a contract extension Very similar to what is going on at UND. 8 years of not making the Frozen Four and Denver made the change. Quote "The string of consecutive losses in the NCAAs was disappointing," Gwozdecky said. "I understand that we have to win, and we have to win a lot of games. We've gotta win those games not only during the season, but in the NCAA tournament, win national championships. These guys that are sitting in front of you established that bar, way back in the glory days of Murray Armstrong. We try to emulate that. Some years we're able to achieve that. Some years we haven't. Some years it's a great finish, some years it's a frustrating finish. But the efforts, plans, work have only escalated based upon our expectations. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/amp/2013/04/02_gwozdecky_i_was_stunned.php It worked out greatly for Denver when everyone thought it was going to set Denver back a few years. Instead they hung 3 National Titles.

Not this location BS again. UND has never had the edge in that category. And yet our rafters are full of green and white banners. Go figure........

No reason not to win once a decade or so. I have been heavily involved in the junior hockey world and definitely noticed the change in where high end players are coming from and what they are looking for as far as college life

Despite being in a poor location. UND is a blue blood in this sport. Period. The only thing that can change that is poor management. Which is the topic of this thread. You may be onto something.

Livanavage is from Phoenix, Emery's from Compton, Boisvert is a stone throw away from Montreal & Quebec City (appears to almost be a suburb of Montreal), MacDonald is from a Toronto suburb, Strathmann is from Beach Park (suburb of Chicago), Perron is from Winnipeg, Croal is from North Branch (just outside the TC), McLaughlin is from Spring City (just outside Philadelphia), Wiebe is from Mission (suburb of Vancouver), James is from Calgary, Jamernik is from Calgary, Wilke is from Calgary, McKamey is from across the bay in Vancouver, plus we have a few in the pipeline from the TC. It's never been about the location. 2

InHeavenThereIsNoBeer
All well thought out and completely reasonable posts as are the thousands of the ones like it(from the literal DOZENS of faceless avatars) after every single loss(exhibition or otherwise). I had to be that guy but… it won’t have the effect you hope. The impact it will have on who the coach of UND’s hockey program: 0.000000001%. Maybe… MAYBE someone will show Chaves one of the posts as a joke, but even that’s a long shot. In other words, you’re wasting your time.

How about some who fogs the mirror when you hold it under the nose, what’s the worse that could happen not make the NCAA’s We have lots of talent but he doesn’t seem able to adapt to this new brand of hockey and ND will be left behind if something doesn’t turn around soon. Thanks Brad time to give someone else a chance. Do we want to be the football team , in the same league but never really in contention. Could probably hire Jay Pandolfo. He seems to bring in a lot of blue chippers. I see they got swept this weekend so I assume he’ll be looking.
