My bad....missed that. So 1-3 this season vs the mecca of ND hockey.

First time EGF has won the Gambucci cup in 9 or maybe 10 years so it's been a rough go for the MN side.

First two MN games were snoozers.  Will be kinda cool to see Hibbing in it for a change after bouncing Hermantown.  I'm guessing that game will be a blowout, but hopefully EGF game is good and the Green Wave pull it off for Section 8.

Should be a couple dandy semis on Friday with Hibbing-EGF and Orono-Cathedral.  Hard not to pick Hibbing at this rate after going through Hermantown and Cloquet to get there.

Onto the AA session.  Go Spuds.

Do you think we want panzer

I will go to our friends at neutral zone again.  They have him as a 3.5 star recruit and ranked him 234 in the USHL draft last summer.  Size probably his biggest knock.

Just for comparison,  Jaksen had 32 goals and 32 assists in 45 games his first two years with EGF, and Jace has 13 goals and 27 assists in 60 games.  Comparisons are obviously flawed because there are so many variables, but 1.42 ppg is quite a big different than .67 ppg, especially when we see the huge numbers put up in high school hockey in general.

Big schools go at it today.  Bunch of really good games on tap.  The Edina-Rogers game should be a doozy.  The kid that took over the net for Edina hasn't lost a game and has been outstanding.

Pains me to say it, but hopefully I'll put the curse on Edina by picking them to win this year's tournament.

Hope you are right on that curse

There is the slow steady path to D1...redshirt the kid to be a 15 year old freshman...stick around, maybe do some USHL/NAHL pre and post season (high school season is short).  I would be curious if they flipped the analysis to NHL as the goal rather than D1...My guess that of the kids that make it all the way, very few played just local high school all the way through being 18.  A lot probably depends on circumstances and team too...and if you bail your local association to play at a private school in Minny high school as well.
