Exactly. The west really can’t afford to lose anyone if a team has any chance at a state championship

sioux rube
Kid from Jamestown here left his senior year to play AAA in Colorado. Now he’s heading to Idaho to play on an NAHL3 team. My opinion. You only get your kids in your home for so long before they are off and exploring the world. Some willing to spend and take the gamble, but I'm about being around my kids as much as I can be. 5

Yep the list posted was just kids who made the choice of opting out of NDHSAA *This Year*.. going back a few years the list doubles for sure... The fomo from that bantam team group was/is insane.... luckily there's always someone around to cash a check. To be fair, we'll have to see how it works out, some good hockey players they produced from those birthyears.... but.....for every Oneil that commits (and it's a long road from commit to seeing D1 ice) there's a couple 13-14 dozen (insert name here)s

Johnny Five
Well looks like his resignation hit the local news today. Job posting went live on Friday already. Oddly enough Bismarck Hockey Boosters hasn't announced anything yet. Just hope the local psychos don't chew him up and spit him out too fast. Odd timing to hire a coach, and Bismarck doesn't exactly attract a lot of candidates either. I believe when Peluso resigned they opened the interviews up for 2 cycles because nobody applied. When the local girls teams were forced to split only one coach applied for each side.I believe Legacy had only 2 candidates. Players are hoping the remaining staff can stay in tact, Faragher just started teaching last year at Legacy so that would be a fairly seamless transition and the rest of the staff has a good hockey background. We were fortunate to have him for 2 years and hope he can help change the culture of Bismarck Hockey.

Johnny Five
Well we are now up to 5 Bismarck girls who have left town since the Blizzard split. By my recollection there was only 2 in the entire history of the Blizzard who had left for other opportunities (Kennedy Blair and Madison Brown). Was hoping Britta Curl would've set the tone - even after Idalksi told her she needed to get the hell out of ND. I'm not gonna list names like above but from the top of my head there are 11 girls who have left ND just this season. And I have no clue if there's any GF girls who cross the river to play either (there were a couple last year who went to Sacred Heart, which is co-op with Crookston). This is getting out of control for boys and girls.

Game count limits seem like a big factor.. also seems like the easiest adjustment although even a 4-5 game increase cant compete with a 60 game AAA schedule.... More games vs low competition doesn't really do much either. More games, tiered classes AA/A ... and more chances to get to MN for tournaments?.. Could have helped the Jays big time. Her teammate that I coached with her is staying in VC for at least this season and will play on the bantam A team this season. Hopefully she stays and plays for the Jays. She’s a damn good defenseman
