Consider that most were high level achievers during their high school career. The first inclination is to play at the highest level they can. Then they get buried on the bench, they still have the talent just maybe overstepped their level or went too far away from home.

Hanna Miller played 23 and 31 minutes in the Big 12 tourney last month, finishing with 4 pts & 6 rebs and 10 points & 6 rebs. 

Ohnstad was a freshman on a Sweet 16 team. 

Ava Miller was a freshman and started 18 games. 

All three will benefit greatly from minutes as they were all great MN HS players.

So far I think we have received equal or better talent from all the commits.  Most of the girls that left the team are not close to the talent we are getting.  We lost 3 impactful players from last years team, Pemberton, Ibrahim and schiller.  I think Hutter has done a excellent job filling in with quality players.  Its impressive to me the talent he has got to come to this team after losing our head coach and 8 players bailing on the team.  He had those cards stacked against him and still getting high quality players.

Who do you mean when you say “we”need to take a step back and actually look at how good they are. 

I believe the UND WBB college coaches did exactly that before offering a spot on the team.

Iramurphy what perfect statement this why we have coaches for and it’s not us putting a team together. Time will only tell how successful these choices on recruiting talent and I hope they are mote successful than failures on new recruits. Yes we’re moving on from our transfers but our former players are being recruited by other notable schools in division I showing we were not getting or developing this talent to play together become winning team. What impresses me is Hutter trying put together roster with enough talent size to compete for Summit to compete and win the conference with returning players. I may be optomistic but I look at the Summit the amount of turnover on most teams I think we’re going to see very even conference. SDSU will be favorite but they will not be dominate team they have been in past, NDSU has most returning but I think they will still be beatable a lot of questions on who will lead team loss of two seniors will put pressure on other players perform. St Thomas graduated quite bit but they seem find talent and are well coached. The rest of conference has big turnover so we will see who has put together competitive teams for next year.  I am excited about Hutter his enthusiasm II. He has plan for this team, he cares about players on team that are committed, is constructing roster to play type of basketball he wants to play, and is communicating some of this to public create interest in women’s basketball. I think we have turned a corner but AD is going to need to step for women’s sports and Men’s basketball.i am so looking for next season.

In the men’s side King sort  of fits exactly that having been a stand-out Minn HS player then seeing little action at Iowa St. Star/great player for UND these past two seasons, no, but he has been a real nice addition to the men’s team.

UND has its likely 2025-26 starting PG, and barring any new departures, the roster may now be full.

Great news on Hughes. Didn’t realize we actually had a chance to get her. I thought she was done playing. I don’t think we will skip a beat with her at PG this year. She is very good. If I remember she played well against us. Fantastic news.

I wish he would’ve brought her and Jes Mertens with him last year! Either way, excited to have Mackenzie for 1 year. Things are looking up!

Hughes was quicker than anyone we had on our team last year.

Exciting!! Hopefully we can develop a younger player or grab a transfer next year to take over her role when she leaves since she only has one year.

I see SDSU has even gone to portal signing up Maggie Hartwig from Evansville  6’1” front court player with two years remaining  and has started primarily for them past two seasons. Averages 16 pts. A game adding her to Brooklyn Myer now makes this team power house again with depth at front court position. The changes in player personnel and coaches  for next year is going to be hard to figure who are contenders with exception of SUs returning most talent but even these two are not locks to win the conference as it has been last several years.
