San Diego cost of living is 41% higher than national average.  

GF cost of living is 9% below the national average.

Still talking around $370k for an equivalent comparison. So if Kelly’s $350k wish comes true, we are getting in the ballpark. Plus other factors like family, friends, atmosphere are potentially going to sway a guy like Schmidt.

Fruechte before Schmidt.

Whatever taint he has by being the OC here is just one year. 

He's spent most of his playing and coaching career away from UND. 
That should be considered.

Fair, but could you make the argument spending more recent time around DeBoer could have wiped Schmidt’s hard drive of the Bubba effect?

If you don’t want Schmidt, you can’t want Fruechte. I’m dead serious - how can you say Fruechte is going to be better than Schmidt? Schmidt was at least coaching on winning teams (not anymore, which has me spooked on him also) and also was on championship contending teams at the FBS level. 

Fruechte hasn’t produced or won squat as a college coach yet… and there’s no proof that he will. If he’s hired, I hope he wins a ton, but since he’s not officially hired as head coach, it is beyond fair to question his ability to get the job done. 
 

Fruechte is a young, relatively inexperienced coach that has been a part of two losing teams for two different schools the past two years, and he has no head coach experience. That does nothing for me … 

Accomplishments as a player don’t mean anything in terms of coaching.

More importantly, endorsements from current players (many of whom may not even start next year or should start next year), former friends and teammates should honestly carry the least amount of weight possible. Of course they will be in their buddy’s corner.

...and on a tangent Texas has 2 weeks to integrate Arch as the starter. Zero chance they win the natty as is

Recruit, recruit, recruit. Everything is in place now (well technically next month). Schmidt was on the sidelines for the national championship game last year. Have him bring that juice / confidence / swagger back to UND. 
 

I’m ready to talk up anyone. UND has everything in place. Sell it! You could tell with SDSU (South Dakota) the last few years with recruiting. It’s infectious. Let’s see that with portal class!

Bubbas still here and present.  Not HC anymore but accessible around every corner. Back to the same bar, same acquaintances, same talk, same time for the gobc connection.   Und needs new blood !!!  Any und tie, regardless of time away will be like they were never gone since bubbas still roaming.

One more added point. If Eric is hired…half of the coaches are still here from when he left. Will he retain all of them ?  They are part of the gobc.
