SWSiouxMN Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Took a look at the roster, they have Jal at 6'7 and 165 pounds. 165? That can't be right https://fightinghawks.com/roster.aspx?path=mbball Quote

This also caught my eye: Atelbauers and Rebraca join a list of five other newcomers that have joined the Fighting Hawks' program during the offseason and will be eligible to compete in 2018-19. By my count, they have 6 newcomers, plus these two. What gives here? Misprint or is someone not coming? Quote

SiouxVolley Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Chaves seems like he has been working his magic. Maybe it’s Jones himself, but he always seemed to be so Iowa focused. Iowa has been the go to place for players. Quote

They had a good tie to MSP with Coach G, but haven't filled that void yet and really need to. I highly doubt Chaves is getting his hands dirty in recruiting, especially considering they have been on a large number of these guys for months or longer. Quote

Chaves without question has his hands in hiring assistant coaches. They can bring along recruits. Quote

Head coaches get a lot of latitude when hiring assistants. The AD signs off on it and might ask a few questions and offer some guidance but the majority of it falls on the head coach. Quote

sioux24/7 Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 EWU has quite a few international players if I’m not mistaken so it may not just be a coincidence. 2 Quote

If I remember correctly, all but one Big Sky team had at least one foreign player. Many had 3-4. There were many fewer international players in the Summit. Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 So I had to guess who plays this year from the incoming class, I would say everybody but Schmidt and Hazekamp. Those two would be the most likely to redshirt Quote
SWSiouxMN Posted July 23, 2018 Posted July 23, 2018 With so much roster turnover, this puts pressure on all the returners to collectively to take the next step, especially from the 3 juniors on this squad. Quote
