SWSiouxMN Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 After a dismantling of ISU, UND is now one step closer to the Big Sky autobid. Today will be a challenge as Weber State stands in as their semi-final opponent. UND finally broke through against Weber in February, but still hold a 1-8 record against them since joining the Sky, including an 0-2 record in the post-season. It is without question that UND is going to have to bring its A game today. Once again: Avants, Shanks, and Drick are called upon to contain the Big Sky POY. Geno needs to play like he did in the 2nd matchup and stay out of foul trouble, which he hasn't done successfully in Reno. To me, this game will come down to these three factors 1) How well UND rebounds 2) How well each team takes care of the ball 3) Who wins more of the "small little plays" that can turn a game around UND needs a balanced attack like they did in the game in Grand Forks, Weber wants Joel to go get 20+ rebounds like they did in the game in Weber. Other Game: #2 Montana vs #3 Idaho 10:05 The calls: UND has seen this before. More times than not these matchups have 5-7 swing plays that end up being a difference maker. Last time, they finally made enough of those plays to come away with a W. The stakes are bigger here, a trip to the finals is on the line. This has the feeling of a last shot game today. Senglin and Joel play well, so does Hooker and Drick. In the end... a last second shot, that is executed to a T, send UND to the finals in a moderate upset UND 74-72 In the other game Idaho 67 Montana 65 Idaho looks good, really good. I think they the guard play to overcome Montana's strength on the inside. They will advance and set up the exact same matchup in the women's championship game. UND vs Idaho 1 Quote
Cratter Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Let's piss off Weber some more about having to play on a neutral court. 3 Quote
hoops44 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Weber 75-67...Montana 65-62... Weber not likely to put on a brick shooting exhibition...like Idaho St.did. Quote

WILDCAT Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Should be a very entertaining game, I'm hoping that Weber got their slump game out of the way and will be better prepared for this one, North Dakota is a good team and if Weber plays like they did in the 2nd half yesterday it could get ugly. Good luck tonight, here's hoping for a clean, injury less fun game, and may the best team win GO WEBER STATE Quote
CMSioux Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 If UND stays out of foul trouble and hits on some early 3s they will have the confidence and talent on the floor to make it competitive. If the Big Sky refs call their usual phantom fouls UND will be in trouble. Either way the play-by-play announcers will be waving purple. Quote
The Sicatoka Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 The next 48 hours is the window that a Jones team needs to finally far exceed expectations. 1 Quote

CMSioux Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Yah according to the announcers it was an advantage that UND got to play the play-in game - nothing to do with being outrebounded. Somehow UND was able to get used to the court during their first game and not shoot 25% and get outrebounded by 20+ - just another fluke I guess. 1 Quote

Nodak78 Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 UND playing good defense. need to hit some shots. Quote
bincitysioux Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Solid defensively, forcing plenty of turnovers. Need to start hitting shots. Seem a bit out of control at the offensive end. Quote

Risky Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 So far Dick Bernstein, Dirck Bernstein , and Dirck Berstein. Is it that difficult to read English. We have already missed a few bunnies. Maybe a few jitters. Quote
