Teeder11 Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 UND TIES IT UP 1-1! Goal by Freshman Kaylee Kebba. 23 minutes remain in first half. Kebba scores from about midfield after Viterbo goal keep misjudges leap. Quote
Teeder11 Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Freshman Katie Moller ties it up again for UND. 2-2!!! Edited August 15, 2015 by Teeder11 Quote
Teeder11 Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 (edited) Sorry my updates are lagging. I was working on my fall camp scrimmage report! It's truly been a day for the freshmen today out at Bronson Field!EGF native and UND freshman Riley Koberinski score to give UND a 3-2 edge over visiting Viterbo. Fellow freshman Katie Moller then notched her second of the game to make 4-2 UND. Viterbo closed the gap with a PK to make it 4-3 UND. For context sake, this same Viterbo team shut out UND 3-0 last year on Bronson Field. Edited August 15, 2015 by Teeder11 Quote
Teeder11 Posted August 15, 2015 Author Posted August 15, 2015 It's final!!! UND gets four goals by Viterbo to avenge last year's shut out loss to the same team. 4-3 UND. All four goals scored by UND freshmen! FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT!!!!! 3 Quote
Teeder11 Posted August 18, 2015 Author Posted August 18, 2015 After I talked them up for their win over a very good, albeit lower division Viterbo (picked no. 1 in their new conference), UND goes and drops a defensive struggle 1-0 to U-Mary. Could have gone either way, which is sad in and of itself, but hopefully the ladies will learn from this and move on. They are young and no one was expecting miracles. Quote
Teeder11 Posted August 23, 2015 Author Posted August 23, 2015 (edited) After splitting the exhibition part of the seasons, UND soccer came out tough and played great defense against a Big 10 and a MAC opponent this weekend, losing 2-0 to Northwestern and winning a gritty come from behind game in the final minutes against Northern Illinois 2-1. NIU was fresh off a shut out victory over Big 12 Iowa State. Sounds like the young freshman goalie Swenson is a good one, as are Freshmen Koberinski, Moller and Geiwitz. Geiwitz was especially impressive in the back row, almost single-handedly shutting down the huskies on her side of the field, while using some creative maneuvers to get the ball up field and in scoring position.Upper classwomen Hyduke and Zoe Foster calmed the young UND squad enough so they didn't get discouraged when they were down 1-0 in the final minutes. UND then tied it, then won it with only three minutes left in regulation.Way to go! Edited August 23, 2015 by Teeder11 2 Quote

Teeder11 Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 (edited) Just wondering why the disparity in shots per half? Was the wind a factor?a little bit, but nothing that would translate into that kind of turn around. UND was in a defensive shell the first half and made the most of one of the few opportunities they had to score to put them up 1-0. The second was night and day difference. UND was the aggressor from the opening whistle. Edited August 30, 2015 by Teeder11 Quote
dakotadan Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 UND @ NDSUA&AS still 0-0 at the half. Quote

supersioux Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Sounds like finalists are the Minot State head coach, the UNI head coach and a HC for a DI school out east Quote

Would likely be good for youth soccer in Grand Forks as well. 1 Quote
