MafiaMan Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Sam Houston State still getting a 25 spot? Are you kidding me? 1 Quote
dmksioux Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 I see UNI sitting at #11 with an 0-2 record. Sure they played two FBS games, but still #11 seems high. Indiana State has a 2-1 record, has played 2 FBS games (one of which they won) and pounded and FCS team, yet they only receive some votes. Something doesn't seem right about that. Quote

In 2012 UNI started 1-5 (the 1 being over a DII team), and they were still getting ranked. Some polls are a joke. Good thing there is a true playoff at this level. Quote

No problem with #11. They've lost 2 close FBS games (one all the way over in Hawaii). Against FCS competition, especially at home, UNI will be real tough. I feel good with them playing against NDSU in Iowa. NDSU will be favored, but it will be a tough game for NDSU. Quote
ibleedgreen Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Does anyone else feel that Montana is overrated? Not sure that I see any reason so far to have them at #3 or 4? Quote
UND1983 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Does anyone else feel that Montana is overrated? Not sure that I see any reason so far to have them at #3 or 4? Me. They are not a Top 10 team. Quote
darell1976 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 Why should Northern Iowa drop cause they lost to 2 FBS teams and very close games too? If that's the case drop Eastern Washington down too, no way they are #2 2-1 compared to 0-2. How many losses should a team have and still get ranked let alone #11? Quote
choyt3 Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 NDSU should be #'s 1 through 10. And only Caillou and the Dom should be allowed to vote. Or at the very least, FU media should have veto power over all ballots cast. Quote
dmksioux Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 They haven't played an FCS team so comparing the 2 really if flat out stupid. My question is why are they ranked so high, regardless of who they played, compared to Indiana state who isn't ranked. It's UNI's fault for scheduling as they did. I just don't think they should be at #11. Basically the poll is saying those games don't count by not dropping them. In contrast, had UNI won, they definitely would have gone up. Quote

I don't have a problem with it... Especially early Quote
2011BisonAlumni Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 UNI is one of the handful of teams capable of beating NDSU this year. They were a top 5 team past year before the injuries and are a top 5 team now. Quote

Maybe we should give high rankings to all FCS teams that play FBS teams? #11 UNI is a joke. Quote
FargoBison Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Why isn't South Dakota ranked they lost to #3 Montana and #2 Oregon? Maybe we should give high rankings to all FCS teams that play FBS teams? #11 UNI is a joke. For one...since when did Montana join the FBS? I don't think Fulerton has enacted Siouxvolley's master plan yet. Also Oregon did bad things to USD, UNI played very competitive games with their FBS opponents. Neither is on Oregon's level obviously but hard to knock a team for being very competitive. I have them at #14 in my AGS poll btw and it wouldn't be hard to make a case to rank them higher. Quote

UNI has played close games vs FBS teams; South Dakota vs Oregon was bad (62-13). Plus, compare 2013 UNI's record versus South Dakota's 2013 record. Also, look at returning starters from 2013. UNI's ranking is worthy until they drop some FCS games. South Dakota has lost to FCS teams this season already. Quote

I swear if it was UND at 11 the whole Bison nation would be up in arms if UND had an 0-2 record despite it being against FBS teams. Quote

I swear if it was UND at 11 the whole Bison nation would be up in arms if UND had an 0-2 record despite it being against FBS teams. For UND to be #11 despite starting 0-2, they would have had to performed very well the year prior. Northern Iowa did that; South Dakota did not. If Northern Iowa loses to some FCS teams, they will drop. We're only going into week 4 of the regular season! So with patience, everything will work out in terms of the rankings come playoff time. WYOBISONMAN Posted September 17, 2014 Posted September 17, 2014 Half the MVFC in the top 20. That makes conference play look pretty tough for the Bison. I think it will be very difficult to go undefeated again. Quote
