DT94 Posted July 29, 2014 Share Posted July 29, 2014 Hello all, I'm Jordan Hinojosa's father. It took me a while but I wanted to write when he got to his new home. Also, I was still a little upset about how things worked out in MN for my boy. But his road has been long and hard fought and nothing has never stopped him. If I had his focus, fearlessness, tenacity, and his looks(lol), I'd be a millionaire. A summary of Jordan. In High School, was a starter since 9th Grade. In 9th grade, and after the 6 game season in freshman football, skipped JV and got called up straight to Varsity and was playing varsity till HS graduation. Graduated from the defending state Champs, Miami Central Senior High School. Miami Central has won the class 6A state title 3 out of the last 4 years. Jordan was ranked the #4 DT in the state and #62 in the nation. Due to transcripts and test scores, he had to play 1 season in JUCO, Coffeyville Community College where he started after the 2nd game. Went to MN in January of 2013 and had a TERRIFIC spring game. Got invited to camp and got redshirted. In January, got a call from the head coach and told me he was pulling Jordan's Scholarship without giving me a reason. I couldn't believe it. Didn't tell Jordan because I wanted him to focus on his school and football. BTW, Jordan had a 3.2 GPA in MN. I also wanted him to BALL OUT in spring, which he did. all he got was praise after the game. Beat writer DAVE MONA said 2 things impressed him the most in that game, the kicking game and Jordan Hinojosa. Now my opinion. You are getting and absolute freaking animal who fears no one. 3rd place district placer in wrestling as a freshman. Blue belt JIU JITSU and speed for a DL you can not imagine. MAX bench 380. deadlifts 595 and squats 600 on a bad day. We have him videotaped(go on the net and look for idolmaker Jordan hinojosa and see the videos) squatting 780 pounds with plates and tension bands. Holds the record at the gym. He is just pure adrenaline and brute strength. Probably one of the fastest off the ball on the team, just So. FLA speed for a DL. You got a man who will never quit and with a motor that doesn't stop. plays whistle to whistle. Very highly recruited in High School. All he does is work, he would run with the linebackers. Let me stop because I could write till my fingers come off. You are getting a self made champ who won't quit, I promise you. Not bragging, just facts. If he's anywhere near being as good as you say, he'll be the steal of the year and may be the anchor we're looking for to lead what we anticipate will be a greatly improved defense this season. I hope he has a very profitable three years at UND and enjoys the experience as much as I think he will. His situation is the type that either makes people quit or gain an extra level of drive and a massive chip on their shoulder. It seems he's tough enough to be the latter. I hope you are able to attend a few games, if not all, so that you can see the family atmosphere that UND prides itself on. Our first year head coach Bubba Schweigert is a tremendous ambassador of the university who supports family and physical football. UND was very prominent nationally in D2 football in the early 2000s, but our previous coach had us fall off a bit at the D1 level; however, I truly believe your son and the rest of his respective recruiting class will help turn UND football back into what it was and what it should be. More importantly, I hope your son brings a high sense of ethics and morals along with his bench press and squat. I must admit that I have to be skeptical how a kid with the talent you describe wasn't part on Minnesota's defense. I do truly hope that their loss is our gain and your son makes you and everyone else proud of his decision. If the gentleman didn't already feel welcome before, I'm sure your post was the the frosting on the cake. I hope the kids Dad understands his son and family are welcome and he has our full support. I appreciate that someone who knows this player as well as his Dad gave us some insight. What would make someone think it important to point out the obvious that we expect from all of our players and coaches baffles me a bit.
