siouxfaninseattle Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 This should be the final piece of the puzzle to get an NHL team to Seattle, but I will never understand why they chose Key Arena over a new arena in a location that is actually somewhat accessible. Oh, I forgot, there will be light rail in 10 years. http://mynorthwest.com/1123600/seattle-city-council-approves-700m-keyarena-renovation/ Quote

NHL will staple that franchise in Arizona almost no matter what. Houston will get a relocation from Calgary. Kansas city from Ottawa. then the next expansion will force calgary and ottawa to build new to get teams back. ..... After.... Qubec City and North Toronto will get expansions..... .....channneling my inner siouxvolley on that one. Carolina and columbus are always canadates to slip into Kansas City too. Quote

No way any of the Antifa and the drug addicted homeless that litter the streets of Seattle know anything about icing, power play, faceoff or Jonathan Toews. 1 Quote

SiouxVolley Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 According to TSN, Austin may be the next NHL city, even over Houston. It doesn’t have a NHL quality arena yet, but UT and another group are poking around at multiple locations for a new arena. Austin metro has grown to 2.1 million and San Antonio is just under two hours. Austin will get an MLS expansion team as it’s first top team pro team though. https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/video/insider-trading-are-there-any-unknown-markets-the-nhl-could-expand-to~1557908 Quote

Not sure ho the logistics of the whole thing would work out, but not sure how the NHL feels about and NHL team playing in a building on a college campus. Quote
