Not necessarily the same exact methods. But a bracket-style tournament format would generate more attention and interest. You could have promoted it on the Heraldo web site, this forum, the Alumni Association could have helped as well. And it would make the whole process entertaining instead of all the committees and their watching-paint-dry entertainment quality meetings. Quote

fightingsioux4life Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Just now, UNDBIZ said: And when bisonville hijacked it...?? A fair point. I think the voter pool could be limited to UND alums, current faculty, staff and students; season ticket holders, Champions Club members, etc. That would cut out a lot of the shenanigans. Quote

So what happens when SunDogs faces RoughRiders in the opening round and SunDogs moves on? Quote

SiouxVolley Posted March 3, 2018 Posted March 3, 2018 These are the names reserved on the internet for a new Seattle NHL team: http://www.sportingnews.com/nhl/news/seattle-nhl-expansion-team-names-best-worst-mascot-kraken-emeralds-totems-rainiers/fbal84bpz7v1di89hmfe5ajj Quote
SiouxVolley Posted March 5, 2018 Posted March 5, 2018 The Seattle NHL season ticket drive reached 33,000 sold before the drive was stopped Friday afternoon. Some are just partial season tickets as the capacity of the new Key Arena is 17k. They started a wait list for people that were late. https://www.si.com/nhl/2018/03/04/seattle-nhl-expansion-season-ticket-drive Maybe the NHL will be sufficiently satisfied that Seattle will sell out. SiouxVolley Posted April 11, 2018 Posted April 11, 2018 This article says there is a group that is in talks with the NHL for a second team in Toronto. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/31-thoughts-might-difficult-nhl-awards-race-ever/ So Houston and Toronto2 may be #33 and #34? Quote

Greater Toronto has more than double the hockey fans of the New York area, which has three teams. It would suck for QC if they get bypassed again, but money has a way of talking. Seems like Seattle is making front office moves, even though the NHL has not granted a team yet. https://www.si.com/nhl/2018/04/11/seattle-nhl-expansion-leiweke Quote
