MafiaMan Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Gee, was that Saint Mikko Koivu on TV last night saying that he's played outside the rules this series too? Say it ain't so, Mikko, say it ain't so... Quote
petey23 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Was that at the Hyslop in Sept. of '85? Sounds about right Quote
MafiaMan Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 That fact that Selanne is still playing at age 43 is amazing. Jagr is 42.... The 1980's and 1990's were an awesome era for the NHL. I remember watching the Islanders win four cups and then the Oilers lead by Mark Messyhair and the Great one win four cups themselves. Then the Great one went to L.A. and the Oilers ended up winning one more cup without him. The Kings should still be kicking themselves for losing in the '93 finals to the Canadiens. I suppose the title a couple of years ago has taken the sting away from that wound, but still...that series was all theirs...Marty McSorley's stick was all that kept them from going up 2 games to 0 and headed to Los Angeles for games 3 and 4. farce poobah Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Norris Trophy finalists announced: Zdeno Chara Duncan Keith Shea Weber While I would love to see Ryan Suter in that group, its really hard to argue against any of those 3. (Where would Boston be without Chara? Where would Chicago be without Keith? Or Nashville without Weber?) Certainly, Minnesota doesn't make the playoffs without Suter logging 30 productive minutes a game. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Great great clip. There aren't many better life lesson opportunities than having your kids who are young athletes watch a series ending line hand shake from the NHL playoffs! Quote

Forget the Norris, if an 18 year old MacKinnon torches the Wild again tonight, Suter might wanna give back some of that $90M!! Quote

farce poobah Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Never mind...Suter with an early PPG. 1-0 Wild. Nice start for the Wild ... the old adage of your best players have to bring it has been true in the opening period of game 6. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Avs made that look easy. 5x3 and Suter with partial fan from the point and Avs caught em on breakaway out of the box for a 5x4 shorty. Tough break...Wild dominating. Quote
cberkas Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Suter with partial fan from the point and Avs caught em on breakaway out of the box. It looked like no one was thinking of the first penalty ending. Quote
sioux rube Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 It looked like no one was thinking of the first penalty ending. Exactly. Quote
Fetch Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I got to get a couple things off my mind - that ? Holographic ad above the goals that is only on tv ...how. do they do that ? & what's up with the bigfoot patch on the av's shoulder ? Quote

The Bigfoot patch has been on the Avs jerseys since they moved to Colorado. Quote
sioux rube Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Wild getting worked this period. The X is dead. Quote
Oxbow6 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 So sasquach causes avalanches ? That's what many in that state think after they have smoked a couple joints. Quote
farce poobah Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 That's what many in that state think after they have smoked a couple joints. ... Avalanche fans have a serious case of "Rocky Mountain High". Quote
Fetch Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 My son just moved there - may have to go look for big foot Quote
Goon Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I remember a while back someone tried to tell me that cup checks don't happen every often. Well there was another one, again tonight. Quote
jdub27 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I remember a while back someone tried to tell that cup checks don't happen every often. Well there was another one, again tonight. You have an odd fascination with cup checks lately in a thinly veiled attempt to defend what Chara Lucic did. Quote
Fetch Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 So there is no checking from behind in the playoffs ?? Quote
