Matt Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 After the Poly loss, I wish there were a home game this week rather than being an underdog on the road. It's nice to have homecoming to boost attendance after what may be a 2 game skid. Anyone have usual homecoming attendance stats? Quote
bincitysioux Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 The environment for Cal Poly was great, although the actual attendance number was disappointing. I think homecoming against NAU will crack 10,000..............but it will be all downhill from there........ Quote

bincitysioux Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 You would think Montana would be under 10,000? Given the attenadance so far? Yes.............. Quote
Cratter Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Between 9,000 to 10,000 just like most games. Quote
ericpnelson Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I'm coming all the way from wild wild williston for both NAU and the Griz, so +1 on both those... I think its just going to take time for attendance to be consistently greater. Football attendance is compared often to hockey on this board, but I think that's pretty unfair to compare to a program which is at the pinnacle of it's league, has the history it has, and has a venue like it has. Football will never have a Ralph type stadium. We could say outdoor would be cool, but that's not going to happen in the near future. If the athletic department keeps up the current promotions it will eventually pick up, it just doesn't happen over night. Besides in-game/pre-game videos and stuff like that, I don't know what else they can do to promote football. It will just just time and word of mouth for people to realize the games are a great time and a great value. Now if they'd sell standing room tickets for the concourse... Quote
westsidesioux Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I'm predicting 8,500 for the Griz game. Quote
UNDBIZ Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I'm predicting 8,500 for the Griz game. I believe you're underestimating the number of Montana fans that will be traveling to GF. Quote
westsidesioux Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I believe you're underestimating the number of Montana fans that will be traveling to GF. No, 8,000 UM fans and 500 UND fans! haha Quote
Let'sGoHawks! Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Between 9,000 to 10,000 just like most games. It is becoming clear that opponent makes no difference. The only thing that will help the Griz game is that they travel well. Quote
gfhockey Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 If we put a better product on the filed we would fill the place Quote
UNDColorado Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 If we put a better product on the filed we would fill the place Did you happen to attend the game on Saturday? Quote
geaux_sioux Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Did you happen to attend the game on Saturday? Wait, the game was at the Ralph right? Then yea, he was there. Where were you? Quote
UNDColorado Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I was at the game and we played lik poo Just making sure. I hate when people complain about a problem that they themselves add to. Yes, we did play like poo. Quote
geaux_sioux Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 2nd and 3rd quarters were not quite poo. The other two...... Quote
Cratter Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 I was there. Would people be happy if the stadium held 9,000 and every game sold out. Quote
UND-FB-FAN Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 2nd and 3rd quarters were not quite poo. The other two...... Yeah, can't play only half a game against a ranked team and expect to win. Hopefully the team learns from the Cal Poly game and improves for the rest of the season. Quote
darell1976 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 I am going to guess 9900 since its homecoming. If UND upsets EWU then I am going to say 10,500 for NAU. Quote
UND-1 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Homecoming and a Top 25 team = 11,000. Check out the history of homecoming attendance: 2011 - 9,930 2010 - 10,215 2009 - 12,431 Quote

UND-1 Posted October 3, 2012 Posted October 3, 2012 Who was that against? South Dakota, so that helped. 2010 was SUU and 2011 was Cal-Poly. Quote
