You guys don’t realize that Fargo is the new Minneapolis of North Dakota. The whole town controls the state.

This is the dark reality and is a fair (unfortunate) comparison.

Nice. Sound argument.

I could write a legal brief but you aren't a judge I need to spell things out for.

Would be nice, but doubt he does … more behind the scenes manipulation from Fargo I’d guess

It is sports. That is all it is.

Good for NDSU.  In the FM area there is a need for FBS   They will fill it    In GF they can support an FCS program   They fill that

It has little to do with their academics or student interest.  It is marketing.

Let us all calm down.

I'm with you on this. Some here seem very butthurt at the alleged offer to move up and some of my fellow alum will also read the tea leaves incorrectly.

Ndsu did a great job of wining and dining the western boyz to allow the change in fundinf

state dollarz> private dollarz

They won this political round. UND needs to step up their game next round…. Big time

Ndsu is not in a financial position to do this unless the state bails them out again

going to take some nfl money to pay for it

8 figure money to join mountain west and 5 million to ncaa and hopefully a few million to mvfc to leave

stick that in your lawyer hat

NDSU has NFL players with large contracts that may help out, unlike UND. And pretty ironic about state aid for athletics being a concern coming from a fan base of a school in the same state that has for some reason gotten multiple times more state aid for athletics than NDSU has. NDSU is the least state funded school in all of FCS.

False, but certainly a protective narrative I’d expect from all ag college supporters.

Does anyone follow soon with a football only move?

None of them have an invite.

Why would

Fenton kick them out. The Summit doesn’t have football. Besides, that would bring the Summit down to 7 schools, so to be 6 when St. Thomas leaves.

Not a better school. The quality of education is basically identical other than marginal differences  and obviously each have programs that the other does not.

But yes, people are nuts. Wish we were a single school, we'd be in the Big 12 now.

No foresight on how to make better use of the land grant act.  Otherwise….

There will be a LOT of changes to D1 football the coming years.  Who knows how this will actually shake out?

Also, the MWC is poised to get a s$&t ton of money from the PAC 12.  I wonder if NDSU is negotiating based on that?

They could use a team like NDSU.  And NDSU needs something to gain attendance and boost interest.  It was honestly getting boring for a chunk of their fans and interest was beginning to wane.  This will help.

UND gets more state funding than NDSU for athletics.

It’s not a threat

its done

Ohio state - Ohio isn’t a done deal. Ohio state has hockey, professional schools, etc., and North Dakota State does not. UND still has greater enrollment, Point is, UND has a chance, but there is a real threat that UND loses ground and NDSU jumps up enrollment if UND and its constituents don’t react accordingly.

The chair of the ndus is a UND grad, I hope he is smart enough to say no state funds

‘there should be an audit of enrollment numbers too.

remember Dickinson state and the China syndrome
