  1. 1. What name should replace "Fighting Sioux" after it's retired?

Not an option in the agreement with the NC$$.

I don't understand why that would be an issue...

The usual thinking is that without a nickname, Sioux sticks around a lot longer. For example, if there were a new nickname, this site probably wouldn't still be SiouxSports.com.

I think there is a clause in the agreement that says UND cannot remain without a nickname of some kind.

Before the whole state law thing and voting by the people...UND was to have a new nickname after 2010's retirement of the name, I believe it was December 2010 or August 2011, but the late retirement bled into that timeline and the NCAA accepted the cooling off period therefore 2015 UND will have a new nickname.

I vote "Solar Power." Zero emotion with zero emission. Win-Win. :silly:

Solar Power...hmnnn...I like it. It suggests peace and protecting the eco-system of the world (solar) as well as the...uh oh...surely 'power' could potentially suggest the privilege of white men in the United States...bummer. Good idea though.

The same crowd that put us in this < this space available > position would make that
