darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 This game won't happen - by not playing, su maintains the only advantage they have - the unknown. Thinking back to the last 10 years of the rivalry they were pretty confident every year they were going to win - how did that work out for them. They can't take the chance of playing UND and losing. (perhaps I'll get some fantasy points out of this post). su vs UND Most wins: UND Last 10 years of rivalry: UND Last head to head: UND But that's DII. Oh by the way 8>1.
darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 That's just ridiculous! NDSU asked UND (and the whole NCC) to move up with them....even waited an extra year to give them time. Why would they do that if their purpose was to get gain an advantage on UND? NDSU moved up because DI was where it belonged. It's pretty hard to argue that NDSU was wrong. If NDSU were to move up without asking UND look how that would be looked at in the eyes of the media, the legislature, the SBoHE. There would be more a crapstorm it would make the NDSU housing scandal look like a sprinkle.
JohnboyND7 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 But that's DII. Oh by the way 8>1. Who has a better hockey program UND or U of M? If NDSU were to move up without asking UND look how that would be looked at in the eyes of the media, the legislature, the SBoHE. There would be more a crapstorm it would make the NDSU housing scandal look like a sprinkle. Probably would have looked just fine.

The bottom line is that if UND had moved with NDSU when NDSU asked (and they clearly should have), NDSU would have gained no advantage over UND by moving up ... thus defeating the supposed purpose of their moving in the first place. Political pressure notwithstanding, NDSU officials asking UND to move up with them makes no sense if their real intent was to escape competition with UND.
darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Who has a better hockey program UND or U of M? Anyone else find it ironic when NDSU fans make fun of UND fans for bringing up hockey?

darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Hmmm. 10 football national championships vs 1 isn't an advantage? With 8 of those almost 30 years ago. Minnesota won a title in the 60's and earlier where is their advantage? The point was the what have you done lately. 1991-2003, 2008-2010....zero titles and what a handful of playoff appearances? UND had 1 title in 2 tries, and playoff appearances in almost every year since 1992, plus beating NDSU 10 out of the last 13 tries.

NDSU has BY FAR the more accomplished and respected football program. There's no need for NDSU to worry about how it looks in comparison to UND ... it wins hands down.

darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 More ridiculous spin. Easy there Bill O'Reilly.

Siouxperfan7 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Back-to-Back. What has UND done lately? Sent a contract to play a home and home in 2015 and 2017!!
darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Back-to-Back. What has UND done lately? Beat NDSU in VB and women's basketball.....back to back.
Gothmog Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Easy there Bill O'Reilly. I take that as an insult.
Gothmog Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Beat NDSU in VB and women's basketball.....back to back. Yipee!
darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 I take that as an insult. Oh...sorry Gothmog. Do you need a hug?
darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Yipee! Oh that's right...buttfootball is the only thing that matters at NDSU.
Gothmog Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Oh that's right...buttfootball is the only thing that matters at NDSU. No that's not the point. The point was that, whatever the sport, winning two games isn't exactly a big deal.
JohnboyND7 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Oh that's right...buttfootball is the only thing that matters at NDSU. Want the coaches at each school to compare paystubs?
darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 No that's not the point. The point was that, whatever the sport, winning two games isn't exactly a big deal. Well in 09 you guys won 3 games in football so I guess that wasn't a big deal right.
darell1976 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 Want the coaches at each school to compare paystubs? And that has to do with what? Craig Bohl lost in 2003 to Dale Lennon. Who made more?

JohnboyND7 Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 And that has to do with what? Craig Bohl lost in 2003 to Dale Lennon. Who made more? Good question. Probably the guy who had been coaching longer...or at least that is how it should be. Craig Bohl also has a couple of titles. Dale Lennon ran a great program into mediocrity.
