dakotadan Posted October 4, 2010 Author Posted October 4, 2010 Way to go ladies! The competition doesn't get any easier as #1 ranked and defending national champ UMD comes into the Ralph next weekend. Quote
brianvf Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 4-2 loss tonight against unranked MSUM. That's a big letdown, especially with all the ranked opponents that they've beaten recently... Quote

brianvf Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 That is a huge letdown. Sounds like they really outplayed them too for the most part... http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/article/id/180523/group/Sports/ The Sioux finished with a 30-21 advantage in shots on goal and attempted 62 shots compared to Mankato Quote
brianvf Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Sioux get the split against MSUM, 5-1. Nice rebound, ladies! Quote
tho0505 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Solid rebound for the women. Good to see that even in the loss they outplayed them Friday. Quote

engelbunny Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Looking at the poll, we gave #3, #5 and #6 their only losses on the year. Not too shabby..... The current top 10 records against other top 10 teams: Wisc: 2 - 0 (Swept Ohio State) Corn: 0 - 0 UMD: 1 - 1 (Split with UND) Merc: 0 - 0 BU: 1 - 1 (Split with UND) BC: 0 - 0 UM: 0 - 2 (Swept by UND) UND: 4 - 2 (Beat UM twice, BU, UMD; lost to BU, UMD) Harv: 0 - 0 Ohio: 0 - 2 (Swept by Wisc.) Pretty good way to start the season. Regardless of split with Mankato, the UND girls have had the nations toughest schedule by far. Quote
siouxnami Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I went to my first ever women's game at Mankato. Kind of nice to walk in and sit right behind the bench and cheer on the Sioux. The game was Sioux domination, but I can see how a good goaltender can steal alot of women's games. The twins were the best player on the ice hands down. I was also impressed by the Sioux goaltending and also Jordan Slavin. Throw a few more Olympians in and WOW... I did think it was funny that the coaches always seemed to be yelling to Jordan about her positioning. It occurred to me that the first Mankato game may have been the first without TV timeouts which has the effect of greatly reducing the twins playing time. Quote
Pony1976 Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 The current top 10 records against other top 10 teams: UM: 0 - 2 (Swept by UND) UM swept Clarkson at Clarkson...Clarkson was ranked #7 at the time. Quote

82SiouxGuy Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Sweet. Get the Siouxweep tomorrow. It will be difficult with the twins missing the next 3 games. Quote
Teeder11 Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Very exciting game. Just got back. In the waning seconds of OT, Wiebe chases down the puck after a scramble in the neutral zone then skates in on a break away down the left side only to have two OSU players eventually catch up to her. Nonetheless she's able to snap one that catches the wide side of the net passed the late glove of the OSU goalie. Game Over. 3-2 Sioux! Sudden death with 14 ticks left. Wiebe's first of the year! Quote
brianvf Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 It will be difficult with the twins missing the next 3 games. It sounds like OSU will also be missing two players for the Sunday game, as they are also heading to the Four Nations tourney... Quote
UND Fan Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 We scored with just over a minujte left to send it into overtime - 2-2. Quote
dakotadan Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 2-2 at end of OT. Going to a shoot-out. Quote
siouxforeverbaby Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 OSU won the shootout. Well, that stinks! That said, I really like the way the team is clicking this year and I don't mean just the twins.....everyone seems to be clicking Quote
