I can't help but wonder if the possibility of four WCHA teams was just simply too much for the so-called powers that be. It could also possibly account for the fact that the three WCHA teams that did make are all in the same bracket, leaving the possibility--remote, I think, but nevertheless--that not a single WCHA team would earn a spot in the national championship game.
