luapsided Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Quote...NOTHING LIKE OVERTIME IN HOCKEY. MINNESOTA VS NORTH DAKOTA IN OVERTIME. I think i've watched it 20 times now. Its great for recognition on a network like espn. GO FIGHTING SIOUX! Good win and lets finish it off tomorrow! Quote
dead_rabbit Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Good win for the Sioux tonight...obviously. Most important thing to come out of tonights win, was to get the win after having UND's second goal whistled off. That is HUGE! Quote
Oxbow6 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Got text notes from my brother in MO and a cousin in Vegas about that "sick" goal! Quote
GeauxSioux Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Wow, what a goal. Looks like Bobby Orr flying through the air in front of the net. Quote
darell1976 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 I had to rewind my DVR about 10 times to see it over and over, what a goal!!!! Quote
UND85 Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Looking into my magic 8 ball, I just saw Bina score the long goal at U of M last year... His 8th of the season. Next up was Trupp's ] goal which led the Sioux to winning their 8th straight game last night. I'm saving the last shake for April when the Magic 8 ball reveals the Sioux winning their 8th National title in 2008 ! Quote

fargosioux Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Does anybody remember if Wheeler's Final Five goal made Sportscenter last season? I've got to believe it did. Quote

siouxforeverbaby Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Does anybody remember if Wheeler's Final Five goal made Sportscenter last season? I've got to believe it did. It was a number 2 play of the day. I don't remember if that was Sportscenter or ESPNwise. Is there a difference? I don't watch ESPN enough I guess. Quote

Sioux_Hab-it Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Canada's TSN just declared Trupp's goal their play of the week! They also mentioned the altercations the following night. Quote

Siouxdonyms Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 He got two assist last weekend if I am not mistaken. Yep, he assisted on Vande's goal on Saturday night. Quote
Fetch Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Ryan Martens pass was also amazing Do you think it was luck or great touch (to float it over the goal) ? The entire team needs to start doing a lot more of that (get the puck in front - shot on goal) & everyone crash the net. Still seems to be too much passing & corner & board work & then no shots We really need that guy who can make passes from behind the net (Oshie has done it a couple times) - but does not seem real comfortable back there (as far as passing) I still remember Hrkacs behind the net Quote

PHE Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 The thing that makes Trupp's Friday night goal even better is that his family was in attendance, having flown in from Anchorage for the weekend series. What a great game for them to see. Good luck topping that game-winner next time your family comes down for a visit, Trupper! Quote
Fetch Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 Or maybe he/they just don't have someone in the right spot to dish it to from behind the net. that's what I mean - too much corner & boards grinding for the puck (the cycle thing) instead of going to the goal & guys in position to score (especially on the PP) A asst. coach like Hrkac or Johnson would help make this work better Quote
Sioux-cia Posted February 6, 2008 Posted February 6, 2008 too much corner & boards grinding for the puck (the cycle thing) instead of going to the goal & guys in position to score (especially on the PP) There are times during the game, I hear myself yelling 'point, point'. Takes me back to when I was watching 'little guy' hockey. Quote
