Feathers..... Offensive..... Sigh

If we need to cut a lot of money we might as well have slashed men's and women's swimming at the same time. I'm not a huge fan of college sports that don't have many fans attend their events. I think it is a huge burden on the student fees and the tax payer to fund these unpopular programs. These are reasons why college debt is so high.

So berry had nothing to do with these recruits? He prob had much more contact with them than Hak when they were being recruited. Have we not seen a transition in the type of players in the last couple years. Yes Hak did start the change but it wasn't until recently. if you read my whole post you wouldn't see it as a pot shot.

Football is coming back to its glory years of a packed Alerus. New rivalries start to grow and success is getting bigger every year. I think hockey's success is isolated from affecting football as their own teams set their popularity. The night game scheduling does hurt football in late October and November but it does help out of town fans make it a full day of Sioux games in one saturday.

Hak had the team heading in the right direction. One of Hak's big problems was he was so reluctant to change the type of play and players the Sioux had historically recruited. Berry's leadership took the team to the next level as his coaching style and philosophy really stuck with the young group. I thank Hak tremendously for all the winning years under his leadership. It's not easy being that good for that long and always have a winning team for the fans. I think Karma rewarded Hak also this year by his NHL team making the playoffs. The real question is would he rather make the playoffs as an NHL coach or win a national title with the Sioux? I guarantee that Hak was as big of a fan as the rest of us and could not be any happier if he was still the coach or not.

We had the best defensive performance of any Sioux team ever! It's not easy and it finally paid off! the defense and offense never played selfish and blocked shots and backchecked every play. I have never seen a team work this hard all year all my life.

Good job Sioux way to make Sioux Nation proud!!!! all that hard work finally pays off!

UND is not the team of the pat and needs to get inline with the way they have been playing disciplined hockey. Don't let the calls affect us. i don't think I have ever seen a better defensive team in my life and that is winning is games. The way the forwards backcheck and pick up open guys is as good as ever. just need to finish out sat

I guess the Hockey Least officials were upset their team was knocked out earlier in the day. The officiating really got to the players and berry and knocked us off our game. We can let that happen on sat

That's a quality loss by Denver as we all know they are better than normal loss........

Most current Bison fans were not even a fan yet back in those years. The bandwagon fans could not even name a Bison coach or player from that era....... I still don't understand the Bison following of this UND board.....

He is the kind of guy a team wants. He might not meet the typical measurables but makes up for it with strength and heart. I bet there are a ton of teams that hope he goes undrafted because of his sleeper potential. great article for Ratelle and UND!

Midco has multiple sports channels so that they can have multiple events going on. the NDSU deal doesn't really affect UND too much

Whatever we do we need to secure 550 KFYR as they have the best signal in the region that can be heard in all parts of the state and also surrounding states too. NDSU must not have gotten a good offer from FSN. Maybe FSN is going all in to get UND . NDSU is more fit to be on midco anyways.

What about the star of the last Winter Olympics ? tJ oshie really put UND on the map after his great performance in the shootout. Let NDSU enjoy their fame because it is a matter of change before the tide switches!

That's about the worst news college hockey could get. I bet the WCHA will put something together to never forget a great official and mentor to the younger ones. I would like to see the current and former teams honor Butch also because of his service to not just college hockey but to all levels of hockey in North America. Condolences to his family and may his memory in our minds never fade.

I just got some inside news. NDSU will be joining the big ten conference in all sports including hockey. I'm not sure what other teams will be moving to the big ten. Now we are going to need to find a new arena to hold regional tourneys.
