  1. hmmm...arrogant , inept at a higher level, nonconforming, youR OLD COACH didn't even see pro potential in you - yeah I'd say you're an A-holeSU Alum - Washington got the booby prize in the Russel Wilson Sweepstakes - womp WOMP!
  2. Prosecute him to the full extent of the law. Pray for the lady he hurt and I hope he gets sued so he's working to pay her medical bills for the next decade for one night of (probably) drunken stupidness. What you wear or who you cheer for doesn't mean a thing - what you did is everything! What an asshole!
  3. Speaking of good local pizza check out Pete's Za by Rydells. They do a Caribbean Jerk Pizza that is amazing and have lots of other unique pies. Don't miss the Korean BBQ Wings with Gojuchang Sauce. Might be one of the best wing flavors in town with sauce that's spicy and sweet and thick. Have lots of napkins on hand but it's totally worth it. They blow the geometric guys out of the water IMO
  4. We did the SHORT friday...buck pitchers at 11am - The Spud also did $5 pitchers of mixed drinks so we'd switch to them by 1pm. Completely crushed by 3pm! GOODNIGHT GRACIE! I remember hitting the on-ramp to DeMers Avenue at about 60 mph in my freaking Chevy Chevette driving 4 buddies home in the '80's. Saw a cop step up right behind me and I hit the brakes. THANKFULLY he didn't light me up and we all made it home safe. Pretty sure I would have blown a .2+ on a breathalyzer and been in jail. Put me on the straight and narrow to this day;-) The Spud on fridays WAS the place to be back in the day! So drunk so early - you'd wander out in the middle of the afternoon and act like the sun was blinding you on purpose. Oh memories...
  5. Hopefully Midco will announce a deal to air the UNO broadcast on Midco2 this weekend - would be a good moneymaker for them along with the SD SuperBowl!!! (the Summit tourney - lol)
  6. Only to go from "SuckerPunch" to "BitchSlapping" - it would be an improvement for Michigan!
  7. good catch but no - I'm sure he heard it around the locker room and didn't have a filter to NOT repeat it exactly in public. Had it on video so I could have spread it around but that was before the social media toilet so I didn't . Still laugh about it to this day though...he was speaking from the heart (or lower) so to speak...
  8. CHEERS for Finland! Don't give 2 sh*ts about the ROC cheaters - just boot their cheating asses out of the Olympics - PERIOD. Also happy for Slovakia FIRST MEDAL only for our old UND Hockey Alum/Buddy Rastislav "SPARKY" Spirko. In another life, I had a chance to ask him about the opportunity to go a FrozenFour when he was playing?? He told me..."We're going to SKATE OUR BALLS OFF..." English wasn't his first language but it was his most hilarious. Miss you Sparky!
  9. Saturday Game is on Midco622 - Duluth broadcast so tune in Hennessy but at least we get to see it. Go Hawks!
  10. It's their turn - the D men can't do it ALL lol
  11. Saw GIno and Tootsie at Harry's just a few months ago - both of them looked great. I didn't know her personally but would have stopped by their table to say Hi to Gino - they had another couple with them and I didn't want to interrupt. Condolences to GIno and the boys.
  12. We're lucky Midco Sports has culled enough local talent to be on their staff (Jody from WDAZ, Brian Shawn from KVLY, Greg Enkers from FOX (behind the scenes/producer guy) Jody did a great job this weekend but David Brown also did his homework and did well having never called a DI Mens game before. He let Jake B run amok but did a good job in his PxP role. We all love Jake expressing his opinions so what's wrong with that? Alex is probably bound for bigger and better things - good for him - cool if a former UND announcer hits the "BigTIme" right?
  13. Sells insurance - which explains why he feels the need to talk all the time.
  14. Remember the "stage" was a 5' sheet of plywood! Tiniest "stripper" stage ever - just basically a place for a girl to stand while she took her clothes off:-) I do have a vintage "CLUB 81" Ashtray for sale if anyone is interested.
  15. Jake picked up the slack later - almost too much. There's room in a hockey broadcast where the announcers don't have to be CONSTANTLY chattering. Yeah I'm looking at you Starman! It's the fill in guys first night - give him a break!
  16. They should have "released" that !@#!$! out into a field...in the middle of the night...in a blizzard with whatever he was wearing at the time....with a direction that "BAIL will MAKE you FREE!" Good Luck! This guy should and hopefully will fry...eventually. Hey - most of us who've lived here know ND winters. Can you imagine the TERROR of a man with a family from India who paid a LOT of money to come to the US being shoved out of a van in the middle of nowhere and be told to "walk SOUTH" through totally black farm fields filled with snow. I can't imagine the horror and pain this FAMILY felt trying to get into the US and they died for it. It's sick and very sad. He was a teacher and the family had skills to provide. A sad loss all around. As much as "FOXNEWS" wants to paint illegal immigrants "as ants scurrying out across the border" This family was not that - they were seeking the American dream and they died for it. Hopefully they can rest in peace. It's a sad story all around
  17. so if a FEMALE reporter gets "too old" does that mean she isn't as "HOT" as you wished she was to be asking questions of the athletes you're asking questions of? Like a lot of female news anchors who get "too old" like Robin Huebner? Lift your knuckles off the ground GFH - blow on them - maybe they'll heal. (Probably not) What century are you living in dude? Katie had job and family considerations and the Covid thing made it so complicated on the UND end it just made sense NOT to have a rinkside reporter the last couple years. Midco still has covid restrictions limiting their rinkside camera operations - never mind a rinkside reporter. I thought you were the ALL KNOWING ALL SEEING genius of SS - guess NOT!
  18. I'd just like to say on the behalf of Packer fans who thought the unvaxxed homeless person they THOUGHT was their savior but couldn't do sh*t in the "FROZEN TUNDRA" - I can only summon my inner Nelson Muntz.... HAAAA HHHAAAAAA! Nice job cheeseheads! YOU BLEW IT! Thanks for representing the NFC North - NEXT!
  19. My money is on the guy from Kansas - knowing the audience
  20. Got into La Cantina in the old El Roco on Gateway and South Wash and it was fantastic! Nice conversion to a bar/restaurant and the food is very good. Wife and I had a couple mex entrees - portions were huge and we had more than enough for lunch the next day. Salsa is fresh and good - a little heat but not enough to scare off the scandanavians. Chunky but good with the fresh chips. They were busy but service is quick. A great new place to patronize on the Northend! Miss the Old Roc but they're evolving with the times. Kudos for that!
  21. Hi - thanks for the input. Just for the sake of the King's English for idioms in the internet age it's a "tough row to hoe" - not "road". No one "hoes a road". A literal tough row to hoe might be one that is long or that involves hoeing dirt with lots of rocks or roots - the figurative version was what you were shooting at. Not being a jerk or anal-retentive grammar nazi - just trying to help you be a better writer. It's still important in this world. You know UND sports - proper writing is your best way to convey it. Just trying to help.
  22. very cool - I wondered what Mr Fingers-Hooked-In-My Jeans was contributing then he came in and blew me away with his Neil Young Harmonica Skills. Voted for the Bloodwashed B'boys! Congrats!
  23. Anyone gone to LaCantina in the old El Roco complex? They've been busy - going to try tomorrow if we can get in.
