  1. That's exactly what I'm saying...if you're going to charge me $40 for a piece of meat make it AMAZING so I don't give a !@#$ about what you're charging me for everything else. FIRST AND FOREMOST make a mouth watering, tender, delicious, perfectly cooked steak and I will follow you to the end of the earth. This was a seared on both sides then served RAW piece of garbage - PERIOD! I didn't even want to take it home and try to rescue it with my freaking AIRFRYER for crying out loud. It was disgusting in texture - tough even in the meaty part and had no taste. Totally right decision to just throw it in the garbage. That's not what a "true steak house" ever was or should be. As I've said - they have the look down but NOT the food. HUGE MISTAKE for a restaurant. PS - as I mentioned in a previous post the Bronze Boot literally had its' roof FALLING IN and still managed to serve a GREAT Perfectly Cooked Steak with a potato and veggie of the day - not to mention a side salad and bread. THAT'S A TRUE Old School STEAK HOUSE Grand Forks Style. I miss them.
  2. Interesting their Google reviews seem to be "CURATED" by someone - to be all positive. I guess you can buy anything on Google, including their objectivity. Just like the Harry's Website reviews - all positive - go figure.
  3. They to bring the wednesday night fried chicken special back - that was the BOMB!
  4. Our waiter was actually an assistant manager - he was very attentive and nice. Was apologetic when we expressed our problems with the food - I sliced my steak and showed him the bleed and he did take the steak off our bill and gave us a complimentary dessert to go but the bottom line was we still paid $86 for a couple mocktails - a whole leaf romaine salad and soup, a mac and cheese side and a bad walleye entree. We still left the $100 because it wasn't the waiters fault. The whole a la carte concept is really my problem. I'll pay $50 for a great steak but c'mon - throw in some hash browns and a veggie and I'm happy. I don't want to pay another $10 for the hash browns! Dave Norman KILLED Whiteys with this !@#!$ "pay by the dish" concept. Not his fault but Hal should know better. The Bronze Boot was the LAST great GF Steakhouse and you didn't have to pay for every single thing on the plate. You just had to watch out for !@#$ falling from the ceiling LOL
  5. That's the least of your problems at Harry's - after waiting for half an hour after our "reservation" - we were seated and then waited an hour and 10 minutes for a "medium" steak that was blood red raw rare and my wife had a $28 dollar "walleye entree" that was one THIN walleye fillet burned and dry on the edges. We wanted SO MUCH to love this place and it's a beautiful renovation of the building - the only thing they forgot is the quality of the food. I'm happy to pay for "EXPERIENCE" but this isn't it ...yet! Ambience decent but the food is a train wreck! Matt the manager came out to hob-knob with Gino Gasparini's table and Marilyn was also there that night. He looked around but never bothered to stop at any of the "common peoples" tables. Thank's Matt. Nice to know you care about all your customers.
  6. HoE puts the UMMM in Ambiance - don't ask for the special. It's almost always Lutefisk
  7. Dale Lennon and I thank you for that
  8. the women are men too? I guess that explains El Chapo. Thanks for helping!
  9. oh BURN! Top programs at ndsu are counting pills and counting on your relatives not to explain what ANIMAL HUSBANDRY actually means when they talk about you and your degree! the ag college - where men are men and sheep are AFRAID!
  10. Forgive the witness your honor you should make some accomodation for where he was apparently educated. I submit the following evidence... https://www.minneapolisfed.org/article/1994/frozen-french-fries-fuel-red-river-valley-economy No further questions your honor! PS - There's a reason UND has the law school:-)
  11. Hit up Jersey Mikes for a great sub! Best since Quizno's took a dump locally anyway. Go for the Rosemary Parmesan bread with the #7 - turkey and provolone - my wife's favorite. I prefer hot subs so I usually go with the Cheesesteak or a mild variant. Great rewards club and double points days aplenty. They also support great causes like foodshelf programs across the US. Great easy app ordering and walk in pickup service. It's our go-to locally. Tried the "new" Subway and it just sucks. Firehouse is good too. Wish we would have gotten a PepperJax but the ship sailed years ago when Hornbachers stood their ground and appealed their building permit saying "NO WAY WILL WE ALLOW A BUSINESS TO BLOCK OUR VISUAL ACCESS" - then bailed out of GF. Still bitter about those a-holes! GO ALDI!
  12. And they shouldn't! If you walk out for greener pastures then find out it's just a field of sh*t out there - that's YOUR problem Otis. Good Riddance!
  13. VIVA the "Legacy" collection at siouxshop.com! It ensures will always have new clothes to fly for an old banner. THAT'S MARKETING GENIUS!
  14. by the skin of their teeth! YOU WERE UP 29-0 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!! WTF! Bye Bye Zimmer
  15. I saw that too - Thanks Midco!
  16. Thanks - I'm a writer by trade but I was hoping "CVS Quality Band-Aid aka Driscoll" would have gotten more play - I could have marketed that to CVS:-)
  17. 5 Guys takes pride in letting everyone know where their potatoes come from. Walking in they were screaming Idaho Russets all over - again wait - we're in potato country. Seems like you could do better in a local chain with a local product. I'm not saying force RR Reds on everyone in the US. BUT it could be a marketing opportunity if you featured them here. Reds make great fresh fries. It's still a side btw - the main focus is on the burgers. I get your chain (same EVERYWHERE) arguement but why? Ask Chik-Fil-A - they bombed their opening in Bismarck by not having most of their menu in stock when they opened. Why did you open? They had lines of cars stacked up only to be turned away by long waits and no product. Idiots. You screwed a certain part of your future business with this crappy initial experience. Like local restaurants don't have enough challenges today...
  18. The loss to BC in the FF was the last time I had such a bitter taste in my mouth. This shows what a dumpster fire we have at goalie - Driscoll can be very good but also be bad at the worst times. He's a CVS Band-Aid - okay if you want to save money but also prone to leaks. Berry was right to pull him tonight (finally) and the Swede shoved into goal did fine early but what can you do put in the position he was. We need to build a young goalie for the future even if it costs us in the present. We'll be in play for post season but this is NOT a year like we've had the last couple when Covid and Cruel Fate screwed us out of a Natty.
  19. There's a FIVE GUYS in gf? No idea - do they buy their russet potatoes from Idaho? Yes they do! PS to 5 Guys - we have RED RIVER REDS that also make great fresh cut fries here in GF. Seems like you might want to latch on to that as a marketing angle but that's just me. Last time I was there it was just another greasy burger - nothing special - and the fries were the least part of the deal. I'm not a master of business but if you're a part of the chain and they force potatoes on you at least stand up and say HEY! Our people grow potatoes here! Let's fry RR Reds and maybe spread them around the country as a good thing? just asking.......
  20. Good luck to Otis I guess. Too bad he feels no loyalty to the program that accepted and nurtured him into a academically eligible player - oh yeah - SCHOOL! Slighty part of being a "student-athlete". Who was it again that tried to teach him some things and keep him on the right path discipline-wise...well, a coach named Bubba tried. Even when Otis dropped the ball (literally AND figuratively) he was given another chance. NEXT! Otis was always front and center when they won in the SocialVids with Bubba coming in doing the Gritty. Really? Was that all for show? Just for you Otis? I guess so...first chance he has to dive off the ship for a greener island he takes it. Good luck - you're dead to me Otis! Anyone remember Shannon Burnell? Another bowling ball running back that had a great college career with UND. He never went farther than a great college career and got UND to the NCAA Semis as a D2 team with RT as coach in the '90's! That's his legacy and everyone at UND loves him for his contributions to the program but no one will ever remember Otis as a GREAT UND running back - just a guy that bailed out for his own selfish purposes because he thought he could do better somewhere else. Again - Good Luck Otis - you're dead to me!
  21. Worth a try to help the theaters come back! Thanks!
  22. Fire Berry? you're an asshole
  23. Always been. FU - your "BIG TALK" is the laughing stock. I'm about as connected as you are - probably more so.,,the difference is I'm connected to REALITY
