Sanford will have to finance a move, not Augie fb boosters, who don’t amount to much anyway. Sanford can even finance an FCS scholarship move and the Summit starting fb. That would get the Summit out of being dependent on men’s soccer and baseball to keep its autobid and would be huge for the other Dakota schools. The XDSU’s fantasy of being considered for the MVC has been blown up by their recent additions. The XDSU’s are merely for convenience for the MVFC, and not for actual consideration of MVC membership and think they have finally realized that fact.

The strings are pretty simple: vote in Augie, not rename the Med School after Sanford like before. The Pioneer League contains many schools that Augie would salivate at to be associated with: Drake, Valparaiso, Dayton etc. Not that I want Augie in the Summit, but if Sanford is behind them, he can throw some big $’s around to get Summmit votes. Getting Omaha, ORU and Denver and UND to say “yes” may take a lot of $’s.

Augie doesn’t have to have a scholarship FCS team to move up as only Summit approval is needed. The Pioneer needs midwest teams and won’t block them (the other MVFC schools don’t have a vote in the matter). Augie can even lay low with Pioneer football and then move to scholarship like Mercer and Campbell have done later. NDSU, SDSU, and USD are historically too dependent on Sanford money to kill Augie’s bid, so at least to Sanford’s face, they have to support Augie’s DI bid. If UND wanted to be “nasty” to those other flagship schools, Sanford paying for new UND football facilities would be to price for UND support.

This weekend Idaho St faces another FBS school, Liberty, which is 3-3 and has beaten Troy, UNM and ODU. If ISU wins, the pollsters should give them a lot of credit and make UND’s loss more of a quality one.

Lithium batteries needs large amounts of lithium, cadmium and graphite with current technologies. Those prices have skyrocketed over the past few years. Lithium is mostly mined in Chile and Argentina, but increasing amount are mined and refined in Quebec, N Carolina and Nevada. The Chinese, Koreans and Japanese are mostly the lithium battery makers not but Tesla and the Germans are trying to muscle in. Cadmium mostly is mined in the Congo, but other mines have been started in Idaho and Australia. Graphite is mostly mined in Mozambique, but smaller amounts are found in many countries. There is a big push for batteries in the solar and wind energy fields too.

Would disagree. Med School spots are so in demand. An independent research med school would attract many more students and greatly increase the competence of the USD Med School long term as it is much related to a vibrant Sioux Falls. That’s 1920’s thinking that it would hurt, as their weren’t airlines then and an internet, and it would hurt back then. The medical world is much larger than SD. USD’s School is mostly geared for family practice. Highly doubt that Augie’s would be. Google and Facebook and Apple are not made weaker by all locating their HQ’s near San Jose. Maybe an earthquake damages them all, but their competence becomes stronger because they often exchange employees and ideas.

Not that they are Big Ten recruits, but it normally takes more than a year to learn the college game and even longer to be excellent. Pryor wants to build a program or else he would have gone the JC route. Vail will need to be replaced at the MH position, but even she had a lot to learn as a P5 transfer. Rutten, Wahl and Hunt are listed as MHs too, but only Rutten has played. The team won’t be an eventual national top 20, but Summit League champions are easily within their grasp if they continue to work and be excellent teammates

The team shouldn’t look ahead, but fans do. Of the remaining games, UND should be big favorites over Sac St, Portland St, Idaho and NAU. All those teams can spring an upset though. Weber St at the Alerus looks to be the biggest matchup. Win against Weber and the others will mean a first round bye.
