  1. He'll get a pass because he didn't disown his married lesbian daughter who worked on the Obama campaign. That story was just in the press for a reason, just to placate the education libtards.
  2. The faculty may actually value leadership that will make tough decisions, offer consistency, and not put up with grandstanding by the Deans.
  3. Yeah. Guess it's ok to steal from an historically black college, but not ok to take a state nickname that we have rightful claims to.
  4. Why all the references to homecoming as: Fighting UMES Hawks Homecoming
  5. On www.umes.edu, they are referred to as Fighting Hawks all over.
  6. There exists one other DI school with the Fighting Hawks name, beside the 40 odd adjective-Hawk schools: Maryland-Eastern Shore Fighting Hawks Even with the adjective, it not unique.
  7. Fighting Hawks must be a protest vote against this deranged process. Nothing else explains it.
  8. Beat Crookston by 25, 72-47.
  9. The low information voters win again.
  10. At least you should vote as then you can't be blamed for this shame.
  11. No idea why. Should have gone really edgy with a triceratops nickname.
  12. Roughriders is just too old school for kids. Would Buckeyes, or Badgers, or Hoosiers, or Cornhuskers actually win in their states if they weren't the name now?
  13. It's too bad Fargo North's Kira Larson didnt transfer to UND from Nebraska. She chose Mizzou and is leading the team in kills. UND was probably too big a drop competitively. What we need is more power, like NAU 's Vander Plueg, and Larson is three inches taller.
  14. Its the same fanbase full of crap you hear that UND politically held NDSU back from their rightful place. If it wasn't for UND'S politicking, NDSU would be in the Big 12, as they would be the equivalent of Kansas St and Iowa St. That justifies their hatred of UND in their eyes, as NDSU was oppressed for years by UND.
  15. The state of ND made a big push for Nano components manufacturers in ND. They and Fargo gave big $ incentives when Alien promised to build an RFID plant, as the presence of NDSU was cutting edge in the field. The plant was sort of built, but then the wheels came off, Alien pulled out, and the state has nothing to show for its investment. Now there's no remnant of the gigantic nano-complex in Fargo. In 2005, NDSU and Fargo were supposed to be an important hub for this technology going forward - like a NanoValley.. Just wait til 2015 and we will all be amazed at how the industry has grown but shrunk - after all its nano.
  16. Always liked the idea on making a horseshoe on the south end with mostly glass so you can see in and out. That would make it brighter and inviting, much like Ralph made then REA with glass near the escalators. The cost and city politics would probably be prohibitive.
  17. But not at Howard Wood. SDSU is demo-ing their old stands soon after the regular season ends. The NCAA probably does not like fields that are not home fields, as there may be operational issues they are unaware of. Sioux Falls is an upgrade otherwise for accommodations and accessibilty.
  18. Wasnt the gift $10 mill provided as matching funds. Maybe the total gifted after matching to the business school was $35 mill.
  19. Seems like that would be too much space for PT/OT. Could see something like biochemistry, anatomy and other related medical sciences moving there too. Maybe moving NDSU's pharmacy school there would be an option. That way the legislature doesn't have to spend money that NDSU alumns don't raise themselves, as that pharmacy school's facilities are jammed into an outhouse.
  20. What's strange is that the deign of a new business school was released years ago, but still no signs of it being built. B. John Barry can afford alot of giving now, as he is officially a philantropist. NDSU got a couple million for their new Barry Hall dowtown, so imagine that Barry would lavish more on UND. Maybe I'm not the only one that doesn't care for Kelley and prefer to wait to give any gift. Drew Wrigley probably knows some things are coming down, otherwise he wouldn't express interest. What would a person do with big empty buildings like Gamble and the old Med School? NDSU would kill to have excess buildings in good shape, as half their campus is just crumbling. Hagerott put ol' kibosh on Bresciani's plans to add 4000 students because there exists excess building/classroom capacity elsewhere. Bisonville is in an uproar over it, but those stingy bizon alumns just need to pay for a couple of new buildings, and then Hager otter wouldn't have to go to the legislature.
  21. Dave Fennel, a Canadian, former UND football player, and Edmonton Eskimo, founded a couple of gold mining companies and also had his own island in the Caribbean like Nygard. He just resigned from some gold mining companies boards. Dont know if he is a billionaire, but he's close to Nygard in net worth. One son played for Mich St and another was a Canadian luge Olympian. His name has been bandied about for years as a possible benefactor for UND football. Any FBS hopes might ride on him. Don't think he'd be satisfied with FCS. Nygard would be a total shock, but Fennell not so much.
  22. Kelley changed the rules in the middle of the game. By not eliminating NoDaks, it almost assured Fighting Hawks the winner. That is unconscionable and appears to be pure politics, even though it might not be. In politics, there is nothing wrong with insinuating a belief. That is what was done here. If Kelly or the consultants are for Fighting Hawks as the least offensive name, the students and most alumni will be against it because they don't want to be for what Kelley wants. It's now a political campaign whether we like it or not. Obama is still running against Bush and Kelley has the Bush tag himself now.
  23. When this process started, a nickname and logo that were uniquely North Dakota were promised. Placing Fighting Hawks on the ballot makes that promise a lie.
  24. Allegiant flies to Los Angeles, Clearwater (Tampa Bay), Fort Lauderdale, and Punta Gorda (Fort Myers area), so flights to any of these from GFK would be nice. Bring more Canadians down.
  25. So you want to one up Dickinson St with their Blue Hawks? Wouldn't even be the second university in the state with that NAIA name.
