  1. So belated congrats for NDSU making VHR status on one of the ratings services. They can stand it line behind Montana State which has a higher and more diverse and less Ag focused research rating. BadlandsGriz: What is your best estimate of the % chance that NDSU will be AAU in five years?
  2. Ask any university research professional, and they be laughing for a week. Business, law, and liberal arts don't count, so you haven't a basic clue. If you had graduate molecular biolology, then maybe. Bresciani has taken a very serious thing, and made ND a mockery to the nation. Get it? It's like giving a ribbon to all grade schoolers for participating in a spelling bee saying their international scholars. Bresciani and the Forum should be the hands down all time winner of Bisonville 's preposterous award, but there is no one courageous or knowledgeable on that board to see it. I would not take issue if a 5 year goal was Very High Research status, but AAU will take generations and billions.
  3. Here's a link to the top research schools in the country. Notice that NDSU and UND are well below numerous others in the quest for AAU status. http://mup.asu.edu/Top-American-Research-Universities-2013-Annual-Report-MUP-2015-02-13.pdf Here's the Forum's editorial that would win on Onion reward: http://admin.inforum.com/opinion/editorials/3858345-forum-editorial-ndsu-poised-next-level
  4. The oil company has a moral obligation to its employees and contractors to have proper safety equipment available, like a means of egress, H2S monitors, and gas masks. Far too many death have occurred in the ND oil industry. The oil industry is by nature dangerous, whigh is why safety and environmental corners should not be cut.
  5. So the Forum's editorial voice, like a good little boy, says Bresciani's vision to BE AAU will succeed in five years. It points out how Bobcat gave $5 mill to the cause and the visual arts department got a donation of over $3 mill. Apparently the Forum doesn't realize the gifts must total billions before AAU can be taken seriously and the visuals arts department has nothing to do with AAU, nor does AG research as Nebraska's experience showed. Boston U, which has a $1.6 Bill endowment, was the last school to get invited, and excceds many AAU schools in medical research, and had to wait decades. Georgia Tech was the only other school to get an invite in the last ten years. Apparently, the Forum thinks NDSU will soon be an equivalent school. U of Cincinnati, Virginia Tech, NC State, Oregon St, Georgia, and Oklahoma are just a few of the school's pounding the pavement for decades, but NDSU will get in before them on the Forum's and Brescianni's braggadacio. The Forum's editorial could be placed in the Onion if it was satire.
  6. Idaho St is up to #51 and N Ariz is #58 by Massey. Sac St is also good in the south, as they are #80. Good for the conference, as a team breaking into the 40's might gain an at-large bid. UND was at #113 before this match, while NDSU was at #116. E Wash is at #118, which is the team to watch in the Big Sky North.
  7. They were hockey school until they forgot that goal scoring is a part of the game. Whenever an offense comes back, then fans will return. Football and basketball have gone through bad stretches too.
  8. Eversport worked for me at about halfway through the 1st set.
  9. No video. Eversports says it's later, but livestats has a score.
  10. As long the the Pig Ten Network controls a big part of their purse, they would rather have Iowa (Coralville is building a hockey arena), Nebraska (Pinnacle Arena can also host hockey if they invest in ice making equipment), and Ariz St, even if they have barely filled arenas.
  11. So UCONN isn't trying the get AAU status so it can get the Big Ten's attention? The state is literally pouring hundreds of millions into UCONN so they can join an exclusive club. It plainly obvious you are totally ignorant. UConn, UMass, Virginia Tech, NCSU, Tennessee, UGa, Kentucky, LSU, Kansas St, Oklahoma, Okie St, and all of the MWC, and half of the PAC12 are in line but somehow NDSU will butt in front of them. Please! FBS is almost must for a public research land grant that wants to be taken seriously by potential staff and to fit in with that group. FCS doesn't cut it with those snobs. An FBS Big Sky will have one AAU land grants and flagships. Bresciani knows that a lot of what defines NDSU is the company they keep. Oral Roberts, WIU, and IPFW are not compatible with that vision.
  12. Standard reply about hating NDSU. AAU is so beyond what UND or NDSU are capable of in five years. Much of the faculties would have to be fired and replaced with top notch people in their fields. And that is impossible with tenure or without expanding the departments. Get it? So you just love UND after posting 50 times that it's broke.
  13. ThanKS for your replies. Wasn't trying to be difficult as there are a lot of permutations in play and style. The team doesn't look as crisp as last year, but they are more talented. Beat NDSU Tuesday night!
  14. Unless NDSU gets a medical center with research, vastly increases genetic research on human conditions, or DOE builds a new collider lab outside Fargo, NDSU will not get any consideration from AAU. Ag research doesn't cut it, as Nebraska shows. Stretch goals are good, but this is totally unrealistic for all except the most gullible. Bresciani may want to increase research, but AAU is not even conceivable like at this point. He has an entirely different agenda that bizon fans acknowledge.
  15. You'll have to ask Bresciani yourself. Tex A&M only became AAU in 2001. It costs billions to get the infrastructure and Nobel quality professors to get to AAU. Bresciani is smoking something. Five years is BS unless Bill Gates will start a new initiative. You can't be that gullible?
  16. That's why Kelly and his crew tried to raise tuition much higher last spring but the students threatened to give him a vote of non confidence. Kelley backed down. The next Prez needs to fire all Kelleys minions, who suck the money up for admin.
  17. AAU WOULD take the entire treasury of ND plus 20 yrs of only NDSU being funded, nothing else. You believing President B is outrageous, but you tout his line like it's the gospel. Only lunatics believe that NDSU can be AAU in five years. You've said it includes you.
  18. The CAA put in before the P5 had established it's primacy with rules. Now, the P5 doesn't mind a bit if the G5 gets watered down. More G5s make guarantees go down which makes the P5's happy. The CAA will get in this time. But the MVFC won't because the MVC wants their own private club. Politics and money, my boy!
  19. So exchange NDSU with Big Sky and AAU with FBS. FBS is much less exclusive and much less costly and much more likely by a factor of a few thousand. AAU in your lifetime is purely delusional.
  20. Centuries before BrescianI got NDSU into the AAU.
  21. Then why does Bresciani want to upgrade to a higher conference. Playoffs aren't the only deciding pt. If Montana beat you, it pretty lame saying BSC teams s***.
  22. Bresciani only announced he had a goal of AAU in five years as a ruse to switch to the Big Sky and FBS. Your tune will change shortly. The MWC and CUSA are worse than DII teams with your logic.
  23. So is Fullerton going to make hay out of Portland St's romp over North Texas? PSU may get a major boost out of this and they play Montana St at home next weekend. Wazzu also beat Oregon, so PSU has claims to being the best team in the state. Any talk of PSU dropping football may now be dropped. Big Sky going FBS gets more momentum.
  24. 66-0 Port St mid 4th
  25. Maybe CUSA is on par with the Big Sky Port St 45 N Texas 0 Seconds left in 1st half PSU 439 yds
