  1. CSNBBS has a thread where it lists 75 teams that will likely qualify, maybe 77 if breaks go a certain way. That means up to five bowl spots could be open. UND might try to sneak in the Idaho Potato Bowl or Heart of Texas bowls, as those have a more difficult time filling slots with teams. The Sun Belt will likely only qualify 3 teams, but they have four bowl spots. It would be a boost to our program if nothing else and give us two more weeks of practice. Granted it would cost us sending the band and cheer team, but it would be good publicity. An FCS team hasn't gone to a bowl since FBS split off. Texas will probably miss six wins to be eligible, but their fans won't want to go bowling even if they get a waiver. The Camellia Bowl in Montgomery, a first year bowl in Orlando may also have trouble filling slots.
  2. Western Washington's students want to drop their Vikings mascot and go to something less masculine and offensive, like a bird.
  3. Maybe Schafer will endorse axing a coach that doesn't get results. A loss to YSU in bb is just bad at anytime.
  4. WIU probably wins against Dayton. FCS teams that have been in the playoffs can not talk waivers for a bowl game. The bowls might have to take a five win FBS team, but FCS teams that didnt make the playoffs might be possible.
  5. The NCAA only authorizes Bowl games, but does not participate financially. If a bowl opening happens for an FCS team, it would probably match FCS teams, because FBS teams would not want to be part of it. For UND, could see something like EWU vs UND is the Boise Idaho Famous Potato Bowl. The picture should becone much clearer after this weekend.
  6. For low level bowls, the school most often loses, because it has to guarantee 5k or more tickets sold. But it's worth that to the program and recruiting.
  7. That applies to Ga So and App St. NDSU talked about getting to a bowl when they were in transition and couldn't go to the FCS playoffs when Walker was their QB. They were technically still a DII team. I believe there were enough teams to qualify that year, but now there are maybe 12 more slots. The growth of FBS has not kept pace with the bowl growth. Almost every team would prefer a bowl because it allows almost two more weeks of practice. FCS teams would need a waiver for an FBS bowl game. The Celebration Bowl is between the MEAC and SWAC champions, which is the only approved FCS bowl. Any bowls short a team will be in contact with the teams they want to get a waiver.
  8. This year there are 80 bowl openings. 70 teams have qualified, but with two or one games to go, maybe up to five slots will not be filled. The less prestigious bowls, like the Idaho Potato Bowl may be begging for teams. The NCAA will have to step in to give waivers to five win FBS teams with losing records or winning FCS teams that didn't make the playoffs. Should Faison put a waiver request in? A Bowl that doesn't have teams playing in it would have serious legal repercussions for the bowl and the NCAA. Something needs to be done.
  9. Friends with him on Facebook. He's easy to approach there.

    2016 Season

The QB'S can have partials, and if the are academically qualifed, they can be given academic scholarships or grants for the rest of it. Heidelbaugh probably wasn't given a full schollies to begin with, but it would probably be increased if they want to keep him. FCS is not like basketball and hockey, where schollies are full ones.
  11. An FOI request can be sent to UND, but it would cost. HeraLtd reporters routinely do that, but we can too. The NCAA is considered private, so can't get anything they don't voluntarily reflease.
  12. Waah! The MVFC got so shafted that it's criminal.
  13. Otis is it and him.
  14. The NCAA FCS playoff committee hated the F'n Hawks name so much that they did not want to lower themselves to include it and us. Robert Otis Kelley approves of committees and disapproves of this message.
  15. I would've been been nice to have these young players experience the playoffs. They have grown so much as a team, that if they have made them there is a good chance they would have not been one and done. The sole silver lining is that Bubba and crew can spend their full attention on recruiting, especially the secondary and receiving corps.
  16. So Iowa St fired Rhoads and staff. Word is that Klieman could be high on there list, as well as Rod Carey of NIU. That should get bvile cackling.
  17. There is no excuse for not selling out now, with no playoff game.
  18. Will have to drive up for that game, Lord willing. Is Bowling Green losing much talent? They usually have had good passing games.
  19. E Ill got in because of conference politics. They probably took our spot. With Portland St and S Utah getting Big Sky bids, they don't have a yearly track record like EWU and MSU. Getting three "new" teams was too much for the Sky. Realize SUU has been in before, but they are not consistent and are a weak for BSC autobid. Fordham went 9-2 with a win against FBS Army. Realize they play in the relatively weak Patriot League, but they deserved to get in over EIU too.
  20. Only for fan enthusiasm. Pryor actually does a good job recruiting and has set up the team well for future success. His coaching tactics and adjustments could improve some, but he's relatively new to the HC position. Hardee was a great ambassador, but he had his flaws, which caused his demise.
  21. The UNI game next weekend is shaping up to be the biggest game of the Betty era.
  22. The MVFC teams would be unbeaten if they didn't have to play each other. The FCS playoffs should be just an all MVFC affair. If you read bizonville, that should be obvious.
  23. What happens if neither teams that matched up bid? If SDSU didn't bid, the NCAA may have a hosting problem.
  24. Lover to see non-scholarship Dayton.
  25. Seems the only place that has a higher concentrated psycho population of posters is bizonville.
