  1. Dunn County and Dickinson get major advertising from the Bakken, at least that appears to be true. Quite a setback.
  2. My theory is that NDSU didn’t want UND in the MVFC so as to weaken the program. Chapman and Taylor were entirely capable of throwing monkey wrenches at UND so even talks with the Southland football were started. But the Big Sky heard the back office commotion and came through with offers for both UXD’s.. The Forum printed that UND was not wanted because the MVFC didn’t want to go to eleven schools. Well, the MVFC is scheduled to go to 11 next year with different NDSU AD’s and President. And there are least two Montana schools that greatly value a Dakota presence.
  3. FCS will throw a party when NDSU leaves for FBS. They may even force the Bison to leave for a higher level.i
  4. The MWC would never take an FCS team for a move up unless they lost a bunch to P5, which could be decades. NDSU does not have big enough metro area and good enough mbb. If the MWC need new schools, they would take Rice or UTSA.
  5. There is growing dissatisfaction and disgust that NDSU has not moved to FBS after all the FCS championships. https://csnbbs.com/thread-892210-post-16605866.html#pid16605866 https://csnbbs.com/thread-892284-post-16608080.html#pid16608080 But NDSU is simply not big league enough to afford the MWC or meet their needs. The MAC doesn’t want them as it’s not regional to them. The only option is if the Montanas and Weber, Idaho and EWU move to the Summit and declare themselves FBS. UND would have to respond then, either keep up or get out.. The Montanas and Idaho want FBS at the most affordable rate.
  6. Big Jolly is a Houston-based website that discusses Houston topics. An NHL board took it seriously, and not laid out jokes and complaints to demean it like you did. The author was a former criminal justice professor who believes that this country should honor the rule of law and traditions, which you don’t according to your sympathy for Colin Koepernick. Thought this board was supposed to be non political which you have ignored. You infinite intelligence and morality advantage over this board is sadly showing.
  7. Schmidt becomes the heir apparent coach at FBS.
  8. ORU fans believe that UND doesn’t deserve to be in the Summit conversation. Not in the same class as the other Dakotas. https://forum.orusports.com/index.php?/topic/11632-ranking-the-summit-league/
  9. So southpaw is demanding only PC authors should now be approved for posting.
  10. An article on why Houston deserves an NHL team. https://bigjolly.com/houston-deserves-a-national-hockey-league-team/
  11. Sacred Heart wants a Connecticut beanpot similar the the Boston one. Connecticut has four teams: Sacred Heart, Q, Yale and UConn, so one could be started
  12. Three new bowls are set for next season: Myrtle Beach, Chicago and Tempe/Arizona St or Charleston/Greenville SC. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/college-gridiron-365/os-sp-bowl-game-report-20180611-story.html Some bowls might disappear, as the Poinsetta Bowl has already done.
  13. Thought somehow UNLV upgraded with new money to the Orleans rink. They play Minot St tonight and most of their games at the City National Arena, which appears to be the Vegas Knights practice facility. Minot State is leading 4-0 after two. https://rebelhockey.com/site/?page_id=10#schedule https://maps.apple.com/place?address=1550 S Pavilion Center Dr%2C Las Vegas%2C NV 89135%2C United States&auid=363710739528295210&ll=36.1539372615827%2C-115.32941937446594&q=City National Arena
  14. NDSU lost to ORU tonight. That means Omaha is on top by itself when it could have been UND.
  15. Slipped up some in the 4th. UND 63, Omaha 57 F.
  16. The podcasts were from this fall when the Summit was again going through reverberations. Don’t know why there were posted on twitter recently. Can still be found on SoundCloud.
  17. Did anyone listen to the Bill Chaves podcast that talked about how more Summit teams will leave and others would join? Was intending too but didn’t get a chance. The twitter piece that says this was issued a couple of days ago. Seems it was deleted.
  18. Ethane going to Texas is simply uneconomical. The less than 20% already there can be eliminated by another cryogenic unit installed by OneOK. Their simply isn’t anywhere that it can go except industry. The Northern Border pipeline is running out of space for more ethane. The Canadian flow of gas is way down so it has mostly Bakken gas now. The NGL pipeline economics are for propane and butane as ethane has such a low price. An answer could be get an ethane to ethene plant and send the ethene to Texas too. Ethene is much more expensive and there are exports from Texas now too. Ethane is so low cost it is analogous to nitrogen,
  19. A new cryogenic Nat gas plant that intends to feed ethane for industrial users will be built west of Williston. Most existing gas plants do not have that capability unless expensive operation additions are made. Leads one to ask what other plants will be built? https://www.kfyrtv.com/content/news/New-cryogenic-gas-processing-plant-70-mile-pipeline-to-be-constructed-in-Williams-County-566781741.html This new gas plant will be one of the largest in the state. No word on its cost. OneOk accepts minimal ethane for its NGL pipeline. This new plant will be a propane source. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20200107005252/en/Outrigger-Energy-II-Enters-Williston-Basin-Significant
  20. Bringing in Huntsville is way to ensure horrible attendance. The 60th rated college team will be passed over. Might as well bring in the Atlanta Flames and Thrashers alumni for the main game - that would go over like a lead brick- in the cities.
  21. Although I posted the RPI rankings that had Omaha #1 and UND #2 in the Summit, the NET rankings are different. https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings. They show as 1,2,3 in the Summit NDSU,SDSU and ORU.
  22. UND would have to move a home game to Target and it would still be a home game. Perhaps a Gopher-Badger game could be moved to that slot, but that’s about it for any college game that fills Target. What’s the difference between a Target game and the Frozen Faceoff in Excel for fan expenses?
  23. Memphis should be the representative of the G5 this year, although they lost to Penn State in a bowl. 12 makes more sense the 8, as the cash dispersed will probably triple and at least one G5 could be guaranteed. At least then the G5 wouldn’t be seeded directly against the #1 seed, but probably the #5.
  24. Huntsville has already announced this past Novemberthat they are leaving the WCHA after next season. UAF and UAA will have to find more western teams soon (Simon Fraser and Arizona St?) or lose their WCHA autobid. Huntsville may have Liberty, High Point, Austin Peay, Lindenwood, and FGCU already lined up, but not necessarily all in the same year. The midwestern WCHA seven announced they are leaving last summer, and they can get an eighth team from St Thomas or maybe Wis-Eau Claire. With seven teams that left in masse, the new CCHA will have an immediate autobid. https://www.uscho.com/2019/12/22/uscho-com-decade-in-review-past-10-years-times-of-change-for-wcha-as-teams-come-go-with-future-uncertain/ https://www.uscho.com/2019/11/21/alabama-huntsville-submits-letter-of-withdrawal-to-wcha-looks-to-leave-conference-after-20-21-season/
