  1. The CCHA commish job is open and undergoing a search. I nominate Cberkas because he's so sure of everything. http://cchasearch.com/
  2. The USA hockey youth have gone up over 230%, but the number of college hockey teams have stayed about the same. https://frntofficesport.com/college-hockey-expansion/I
  3. Like the only news you qualify as starting or interested in DI hockey is when the AD announces it. Everything else is fake news. High Point U is a prime example, as it's president announced DI hockey and an arena in a speech, but you still claim that is fake. Pretty narrow minded. Penn St and ASU topped out in NCAA DI, so in the least he was misleading and wrong. But you support that spin of errors because it undermines what I said and that a successful spin on your part in your mind. Why did that state of Iowa spend nearly $100 million?
  4. Las Vegas will at least be betting that NCHC teams with Allegiant get to the regionals. Even with one week to plan, there a chance that venue could sell out.
  5. So the BIG adds two new hockey teams in two years? Not going to happen as the whole conference gets so weakened its not like any BIG school can plead poverty Lindenwood needs a conference before it steps up or it will lose tons of money.. The High Point U, Austin Peay, UAH, Liberty situation screams a conference affiliation though you can't even imagine one so you lash out at me.
  6. The Iowa club coach chose Penn St and Arizona St as the target teams he wants to emulate as most Hawkeye fans don't know their history and the few that do would be bright enough to follow their intentions. With Illinois not taking the plunge yet, Iowa cant even think of going DI until two years after the Illini. The BIG would be terminally weak if it did. Meanwhile the club coach stays official with his speech. The minor league team to Coralville is just another fake out by Iowa to deny reality. This board has a gulibility problem. Sports administrators rarely tell the truth and this board always take their word as gospel.
  7. Administrators have to be very careful when discussing going NCAA DI, as they would never say that directly as it's potentially a fireable offense.
  8. UNLV must be starting a DI team. One report has them bidding on a western regional for Las Vegas at the Orleans. https://mobile.twitter.com/JesseGranger_/status/1231977020436799488?ref_src=twsrc^tfw|twcamp^tweetembed|twterm^1231977020436799488&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fs9e.github.io%2Fiframe%2F2%2Ftwitter.min.html%231231977020436799488
  9. Am sure you realize that topping out a Club DI aren’t what ASU and Penn St have done? They should have chose the words Iowa State or Minot St to satisfy you.
  10. Tampa, Las Vegas, and Nashville may be the favorites but even Seattle has bid. Many others too . UND partnered with Vegas and the NCHC with Seattle. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.collegehockeynews.com/news/amp/2020/02/24_With-Bids-In,-Tampa,-Vegas.php Had Nashville too much on my mind. The article didn’t mention them.
  11. Here's an article from a few years ago that Simon Fraser wants to go DI in hockey. There were raising money then and a move up now would be a prime time as the Alaska schools need and want them. http://the-peak.ca/2016/05/sfu-hockey-eyes-ncaa-division-i-membership/
  12. An Iowa article that says the Hawkeyes want to move to ACHA DI and then the NCAA like Penn St and Ariz St. https://www.kcrg.com/content/sports/Hawkeye-mens-hockey-team-excited-to-move-into-ImOn-ice-arena-567857981.html
  13. Players that played with Luka in Madrid and other Euro cities say that NBA GM's are quite the dumbasses. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wsj.com/amp/articles/they-looked-at-luka-doncic-and-saw-the-future-of-the-nba-11582200004
  14. Having to fund WIH, M&W swimming, and baseball because the Presidents before Kennedy didn’t have the balls to cut them.
  15. High Point, Austin Peay, Liberty and Lindenwood might be four of them.
  16. An AHL team is probably way too much for Grand Forks, as it would suck money and fans from UND. Fargo would seem a possibility, if the USHL team leave, but their arena is on the small side.. The old Jets never had to deal with AHL and WHL teams taking sports revenue out of the economy.
  17. More on the St Thomas move: https://theathletic.com/1620293/2020/02/20/st-thomas-tommies-division-i-transition-miac-division-iii-ncaa-rules/
  18. There are six schools that College Hockey, Inc, is helping prepare for DI, according to the New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/19/sports/hockey/wcha-hockey.html
  19. Often said that UST will be in the Summit only for the transition and then will be invited to the MVC. Augie is the fallback position regardless. Sure that some posters disagree, but moves are made for two moves later. UST had so many things going for it.
  20. Your business knowledge is zero. The NCHC wants the relationship to grow, but you just want your own way always irrespective of logic. Mich Tech has millions in it's state that have interest in hockey and has a $100 million endowment so it is capable of financing hockey fully. Mankato has competition from SCSU and Duluth for MSP viewers so it's almost impossible even if they had won a championship. Attendance for the Gophers is almost zero, but that doesn't mean there aren't Gopher faithful viewers. Attendance is not equal to ratings.
  21. It's a matter of basic business courtesy, which you apparently know nothing about. New venues also have broadcasting issues and the call isn't for choosing games.
  22. A local team of interest, even if it is only passing interest, creates much larger ratings.
  23. Every conference speed dials their national broadcaster before they make a move unless the conference is run by idiots .
  24. They bring tons of national publicity, which is what every conference wants. Never brought attendance up: southpaw did.
  25. Mankato has to become popular in the entire MSP or even the Rochester metro. It doesn't have a metro region like CC has now, and CC is downsizing it's arena. Michigan Tech has a Jamestown size metro. CBS Sports looks at Mankato and Mich Tech and says no, not interested. Bowling Green faces the same issue. CBS would be give UST and ASU a resounding yes. Attendance does not reflect the the interest if it's a big metro or large area (UND). Something called ratings that trumps attendance.
