  1. LA Kings vs Colorado Avalanche outdoors at the AFA football field this weekend. https://gazette.com/sports/air-force-athletic-director-nathan-pine-expects-positive-impact-from/article_4455e7a0-4d31-11ea-890d-bfa9a1c20ad3.html AFA will get a part of the cut.
  2. Youngstown St is adding women’s lax next year and will be an affiliate in the MAC for it. https://www.thejambar.com/ysu-womens-lacrosse-added-joins-the-mac/ Kinda expect YSU to become a member of the northern division of the ASun when they expand by ten as Tressel has long wanted FBS. Expact all football playing members of the Summit will also add women”s lax when it happens.
  3. This is merely an illustration to show how far schools seek out conferences if they don’t have autobids. UC-Sant Cruz just joined a national DIII conference with schools in Michigan (Finlandia), Wisconsin, NY, PA, and MA. It was DIII homeless schools like the Great West that joined together. DIII doesn’t require eight years of waiting for autobids. https://www.santacruzsentinel.com/2019/07/16/uc-santa-cruz-athletics-joins-acaa-conference-for-2019-2020-season/ UCSC, which just established their athletic department, went to great lengths to get an autobid.
  4. This article says the Knights are building another arena for the AHL team and that would open up again the Orleans. Also, Vegas will bid on the 2025 World Juniors. https://thehockeynews.com/news/article/if-vegas-is-getting-a-second-arena-will-the-world-junior-championship-come-to-town
  5. So U of New Haven is moving to DI. https://mobile.twitter.com/currenrr/status/1226712113873399808 New Haven hired the former AD at Kansas and has been wanting DI for some time. It dropped fb years ago and doesn’t have ice hockey. An NEC expansion would be wise, as when the ASun poaches the some northern CAA schools, the resulting poaching the Northeast will be intense and hit the lowest rated conferences worse.
  6. I believe CUSA will also split in two (East-West) liKe the ASun is doing, but later. Each new conference would only need seven members, but for two CFP contracts they then need eight FBS members. If the East takes UMass or Liberty and the West takes NMSU, both Conferences will get full CFP payments. Previously had said conference can split like the Big East did, but several posters said the Big East was reserved that right because it was so prestigious, not because the NCAA had preexisting rules. 2025 is the key year.
  7. The Vegas Knights bought an AHL team that will play in Orleans Arena. Wonder what the diminishing chances are of a UNLV startup. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.reviewjournal.com/sports/goldenknights/golden-knights-buy-ahl-franchise-to-relocate-to-las-vegas-valley-1952339/amp/ A lot more and cheaper tickets now too.
  8. Had to figure that you have SD mbb parents or grandparents. Your great mbb writing style seems to prove that you want to show your grandparent a little up with history and school performance. UND used to be a Mbb school too, as late as the 1990’s but especially in the 60’s and 70’s; Hyslop vs Old REA wasn’t that much different. But now the REA vs the Betty isn’t even close. Same is true for football even the first years that the Alerus was open. But now, it’s almost all hockey.
  9. Some Big Sky teams just can't climb out of cellar except once in a decade:. Montana St, Idaho St, SUU, NAU, SacSt, even PSU and the BSC doesn't seem to do anything to improve them. The bad teams in the Summit have found other conferences, like Chi St, IUPUI, SUU, PFW, and hopefully WIU. Oakland and Valpo were honor grads.
  10. SWSiouxMinn: Were you a fan of any Dakota team.before UND in HS? Been to the Sioux Falls tourney before?
  11. Would almost prefer now to beat them in TSL tournament.
  12. There are people here that are convinced the High Point DI hockey arena is a lie. https://www.construction.com/projects/high-point-university-ice-hockey-facility/
  13. Boise St and the MWC have kissed and made up. https://www.google.com/amp/s/collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2020/02/07/boise-state-mountain-west-kiss-and-make-up/amp/
  14. Here’s the story. https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-news/notorious-hedge-fund-that-owns-the-pioneer-press-buys-minnesota-media-group-and-its-11-newspapers Most of those papers were suburban Minneapolis weeklies. But the group seen growing profits.
  15. Some local ramifications of the NC A&T move. The Big South is only in three states, while the MEAC is all the way for Maryland/Delaware to Florida. The MEAC takes a major drop in self esteem losing A&T, which is the largest public HBCU and relatively strong academics. Some say NC Central and Howard will leave for the Big South too, as that would further help rivalries. The MEAC could loose its NCAA bid unless it gets the Alabama schools, A&M and Alabama State. https://www.greensboro.com/sports/columns/ed-hardin-a-t-prepares-to-leave-behind-history-and/article_89412368-6a97-53d2-9cca-e58f8ce3bdaf.amp.html?__twitter_impression=true
  16. Are you and cberkas the boys from Oak Island? The ASun would have to invite NC A&T and it wouldn't be worth billions as you say.
  17. Mhttps://www.greensboro.com/sports/college/ncat/a-t-will-leave-meac-for-big-south-conference-source/article_827f910e-c4eb-5815-8821-1ed75cf66272.html#6 NC A&T to the Big South A&T must have rejected FBS The MEAC seems like the walking dead conference, losing both Hampton and A&T to the Big South. The MEAC has so many impoverished schools now.
  18. The Vikes lost to the Chiefs 50 years ago.
  19. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/big-ten-proposal-would-allow-every-athlete-to-transfer-once-without-sitting-out-a-year/ BIG wants no year restrictions on transferring. Compensates them for recruiting misses.
  20. Looks like the America East schools (VT, UNH,, Me, and UM-Lowell) want to breakaway from Hockey East and form their own confernce. They can add HE member Merrimack and one of Sacred Neart and Holy Cross to make six. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2020/01/31_Finalists-Emerge-For-Hockey.php That would create a couple openings in the AHA.
  21. Watched some of UND vs P-Fort Wayne mbb last night and saw it was in a hockey arena. The Fort Wayne Komets of the ECHL draw the most fans in that league. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wane.com/sports/komets/komets-boast-top-attendance-numbers-in-echl/amp/ Would think all these cities would be good for college hockey.
  22. This could tie into the ASun, which I think wants HE's CAA teams, so put all the schools sports under them. The CAA and ASun are in an effective war right now IMHO.
  23. Well the SEC Network is making more $ each year while the PAC12 network is floundering. The SEC and BIG can afford hockey so much more easily than other conferences. Wouldn't be surprised if UGA adds men's hockey and women's lax.
  24. Don’t the women’s soccer team and the hockey team share meals together and both use the Ralph in the fall season? Logan has brought UND soccer out of losing obscurity.
  25. I still believe that the massive expansion of the ASUN conference will happen by it accepting many CAA schools like JMU, Delaware, Stony Brook, and other schools like NCA&T and Jax St. Those new schools would get their own autobid for mbb and be a football league with FBS status. But this is mostly just laughed at on message boards. But the ASun Commissioner verifies the football side (but doesn’t mention FBS) on this video. The CAA is almost at an impasse about doing anything including expansion or any kind of change and JMU and others want to move up with the rivals of their choosing.. The CAA has lost Old Dominion, VCU, ECU, Richmond mbb and others and there been big disagreement over how to proceed. The ASun;’s plan woild allow second collection of schools to have their own mbb autobid and evade that CAA blockade against FBS.
