  1. Great having you here. Used to think ASU was a shoe in for the NCHC when you get the new arena. Not so sure anymore. Denver, CC, UND and probably Omaha would be much in; favor of ASU. But would ASU now, if other PAC12 schools get hockey? ASU can gets its own western league with the Alaska’s and the WCHA. Will ASU be that patient waiting for other PAC12 teams? The other issue is who would also get in the NCHC? Minn St-Mankato was proposed before but now St Thomas would get strong consideration because of the MSP market. Miami and Western Michigan reportedly don’t want the league to go further west. Any word or prognostications on UNLV? UNLV would be liked by all the western school.
  2. Utah has gone from <8000 registered hockey players prior to the Olympics to 54,000 today. The rink system has similarly grown. Couldn’t be too long before some school from Utah takes the plunge. https://kslsports.com/423474/2002-olympics-spurred-massive-hockey-growth-in-utah/
  3. Don't remember a Jack Wright commit. A WR/DB from Oklahoma. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tulsaworld.com/sports/high-school/see-where-osu-nebraska-ou-north-dakota-and-princeton-commits/collection_373480b4-c35d-565f-b568-30ea6f3fad52.amp.html
  4. St Cloud St’s Title IX legal issues continue. http://www.startribune.com/federal-judge-tunheim-again-tells-st-cloud-state-to-comply-now-with-sports-gender-equity-laws/566134211/
  5. The Women’s NCAA field might have be expanded as a host of DII teams want to be DI. https://www.uscho.com/2019/12/12/newha-is-driving-womens-hockey-expansion-and-could-help-push-for-a-larger-ncaa-tournament-field/
  6. I’d actually wager that after 10 years, UST will easily have more success than USD.
  7. Yeah, their school spirit could have save fb but it isn't their. When SCSU students picked a transgender homecoming queen in 2004, well before the current rage, fb was already on its deathbed.
  8. So afraid that your beloved Griz will be in a Dakota conference. There are Griz posters that know FBS is coming, but you don't want them to have a voice either. Some people don't even want to talk change, while others embrace it. One of the reason that UND didn't go DI earlier was there wasn't enough conference schools that UND could relate to. The Montana's will step forward.
  9. Didn't say anything about UST's facilities until you brought it up. UST would be wanted for one gigantic reason, the MSP TV and media market. UST and Creighton used to be conference mates, so they are not far apart at all in many ways. Marquette is a better analogy, but UST has hockey too that they will be a power in. A final analogy would be a wealthier Providence.
  10. I said a thousand times TSL will be FCS for a few years.
  11. As soon as they get a waiver, they will build on campus arena for b-ball and hockey. That is a near quotation from a D3 board. Rumor is there will build it on the fb field and use Allianz Field instead. Can schedule in a pro arena like the Big East does, either Target or XCel.
  12. When UST is finally fully DI, they will meet the MVC standards for private schools. They already exceed Drake and Evansville, and are in a huge metro, which the MVC wants for TV contract negotiations. The private vs public requirements are so very different. The public ones are very difficult and the private ones are if one as a pulse you get in. Getting UST beyond the MVC like Creighton did is very difficult. If UST starts lacrosse, they could get in the Big East just for that sport.
  13. Maybe they angle for it, but it isn’t attainable. SCSU athletics has been so dysfunctional that the Summit League would be very weary.. Their new men’s soccer will find a home in the GLIAC like Upper Iowa.. SCSU doesn’t seem to have major boosters like Mankato to give them added pizazz. UNO at least had major booster $’s. SCSU also doesn’t bring crap for academics, as that is increasingly important. One MSP poster has said the MnSCU system won’t allow any of its schools to go fully DI. I see the Summit being an eventual east-west league, EWU to Denver in the west and UND-Omaha-UST triangle in the east, so my vision is pretty set though. SCSU could give Augie a run though when UST goes to the MVC, but Mankato is the one to watch.
  14. Adding two sub DI teams means that no NAIA, D2 or D3 teams can be scheduled for basketball. A conference double round robin schedule exceeds what is allowable. The Southland reported it prior to any team exceeding those games. That is the reason they get a waiver and not been ineligible for post season.
  15. Think Augie will add DI hockey as a consolation prize when UST gets picked.
  16. Bozoville is panicking because they believe SCSU has pulled an Omaha by dropping fb and adding men's soccer and is getting a Summit League invite as a travel partner for UST. The priority for TSL expansion is UST, Augie if UST doesn't get a waiver, and no one else. TSL can't invite two sub DI schools in one year as both could only play a partial TSL schedule as the TSL would have four sub DI games the first year. The Southland broke the rules when Incar Word and ACU joined the same year and the whole conference had to amend their schedules late after the error was realized. A move up school is still looked upon as a lower level for one year,
  17. Made an exaggeration that is partly true. Minnesota State students seem to get by with little science and math and the important liberal arts classes come across as "progressive" arts. Value any major if they truly "learned" and are capable of honestly reflecting on it, but that is rare.
  18. St Cloud St doesn’t have many degrees that are worth the money paid. Parents now mostly insist on getting a valuable BS degree that makes money. UND and NDSU have them and even Duluth to an extent. Mankato has added some STEM type programs but most of the Minnesota States haven’t. Moorhead St used be greater than NDSU’s enrollment in the 1980’s and 1999’s and now NDSU is much bigger. Almost the whole Minnesota State system needs to change beyond the social justice arts, but UND benefits by their incompetence.
  19. Apparently, men's soccer has to replace football as SCSU has to have a men's sport in the fall according to the NCAA, Right now, the NSIC has only two men's soccer teams: Upper Iowa and UMary. Upper Iowa is an affiliate of the GLIAC and UMary affiliates with the GNAC. The GLIAC gets another affiliate. Homecoming will be a volleyball match and a hockey game.
  20. St John's dominates the St Cloud fb market anyway. St Cloud St used to have like 23 sports when it had like 60% higher enrollment.
  21. The Big Sky didn't announce it two years ago with the waiting period because they wanted to keep it secret from the know it alls like you. The reason UND had to wait three years in the Big Sky is so the Summit football league will have an autobid right out of the gate. 50 days is more conservative as it would cover the NCAA Jan meeting.
  22. All FBS coaches do not come from P5 OC DC's. That's another falsehood that you threw on me,
  23. Would think Minot State would drop fb too.
  24. Their enrollment approached 20k just a decade or two ago.
